    Hi folks! :)

Long-time happy SpywareBlaster user here, and I have a question:

I Use Firefox as my go-to browser 99% of the time, and occasionally use IE and Chrome as well.
Lately, I was having severe problems with Chrome and was advised to DL & Install their new (replacement?) browser nicknamed "Canary". It works great and I have no more problems.

My question Is: Will SpywareBlaster include this new form of Chrome is its coverage?
(The old/original Chrome has been removed from my Protection column altogether.)

    I'm running version 5.5 with Win10 (x64) 16 GB RAM PC

    Thanks in advance! :)

    Hi there!

So, first of all, you probably don't want to be using Chrome Canary. It's Chrome, but (likely) unstable code that the developers are still working on. (i.e. versions of Chrome that haven't been released or well-tested yet). For more information, see: http://superuser.com/questions/5822...ry-and-how-is-it-different-from-google-chrome

My recommendation would be to uninstall Chrome Canary and try re-downloading and reinstalling a fresh install of Chrome (the regular/stable version). I suspect that whatever problems you were having with Chrome were fixed by simply uninstalling / reinstalling a new version - not the Canary build specifically.

In regards to SpywareBlaster in particular: SpywareBlaster's Chrome protection does in fact cover Chrome Canary, but the UI doesn't detect its presence as a regular version of Chrome (yet). This will be fixed in a future release, and thank you for bringing it to our attention. :)

Hi, and thanks for the great reply!

I had already uninstalled and reinstalled 'regular' Chrome 4 times, and still had severe problems with it. It was only out of sheer frustration and after reading dozens of threads regarding my problem, that I was advised by someone from Google to DL & Install this "Canary" version. Since I only use it every once-in-a-great-while as an emergency backup to my Firefox, I'm just glad it works at all.

I will probably DL & Install the 'regular' version again someday, but only if I absolutely have to. I still appreciate your info & advice, and I hope this helps others having similar problems.

Glad to hear that SpywareBlaster's coverage is still in effect for Canary, and thanks again for the great reply! :)

    Hi Javacool!

Just a quick update to let you know that I had the same "Aw, snap!" errors with Canary that I was having with reg Chrome.
Nothing changed on my end, it simply didn't want to work anymore. After an hour or so, I just gave up and uninstalled it as per your suggestion.

I then Installed a new copy of Chrome, and everything seems to be working again! As I pointed out earlier, I don't use Chrome daily, just once in a while if I'm having a problem with my Firefox. SO... I'll check back every few days to see if it's still working, but I just wanted to say "Thanks!" for helping me out. :)
