As of build 570 you can also just disable Network Lockdown which will do the same.

Perhaps you could've searched this thread for "exclude" or "exclusion". ;)
The answer is in this thread, many times, and even in a very recent post in this thread.
Anyhow, here's how to exclude an application from HMP.A's protection:

    Open the HMP.A user interface,
    in settings, choose Advanced interface,
click the blue Exploit mitigation tile, and then Applications,
scroll to the right, and under Exclude, choose Add exclusion, navigate to the regarding application exe, and add it as exclusion.

Thanks, but I already tried that and it didn't make a difference... anything else?

Edit: I just restarted the service and it works. Didn't know you had to restart it!

Normally, there should be no need to restart the service after adding an exclusion.
I don't know why that helped in your case. I don't know if it was adding the exclusion or restarting the service that helped.
If the issue might return, if adding the exclusion wasn't enough, perhaps someone else can tell you what is needed to allow µTorrent to run.

Hi, I'd just restarted machine and was sitting idly for a couple of minutes not doing anything. Suddenly, the flyout for Settings appears, and I didn't launch anything. Ordinarily, I would dismiss this, but I really would like to know what causes this anomaly. Any ideas? Windows Settings is a protected app. in Alert's interface.

Just curious did you add the Settings app manually to HMPA? I don't see that it's protected by default. Is the fly-out reproducible?

This is no anomaly from HMP.A, but Windows is automatically starting it 5 minutes after logon. That is the reason why you see the flyout.

For the uninitiated needing support, the Sophos version of HitmanPro.com is VERY unfriendly. Support pages (one all but identical page for HMP and for HMP.A) consists of three FAQs and no link or other access to support! Sophos.com support pages barely know HMP exists.

Edit - Both pages have an error: "If you lost your Product Key, look your all purchase by entering the email address used for your purchase."

    1. When trying to register HMP.Alert, I received "A generic error occurred." Note, I had already registered HMP on this Vista system some time ago.
    2. How do I "deregister" a license? The Vista system will finally go away in a few months. I also have a license for a Win7 that I upgraded to Win10 (clean install).
    3. What features of HMP.A are available in Vista?

    Edit - @ericloman
    HMP 3.7.15 Build 281 HMP.A 3.1.9 Build 363
PC is in a domain. Vista will be used for ~2 more months.

@erikloman : Is there already a fix for the BSOD when trying to 'eject' an USB-stick?

@erikloman : I have an issue using HMP.A v3.5.3 build 562 together with FVD (Flash Video Downloader) v21.1.1: HMP.A blocks the links displayed on the FVD screen (the blue buttons). Only by disabling HMP.A for Chrome I was able to click on the buttons. Is there a way to keep HMP.A active and to access those links?

try with the latest build (570 Pre-Release)...and cross your fingers! :D

IMO, you should avoid such practice as long as SurfRight does not clarify all doubts...

@erikloman @test : I can confirm that both issues are solved by installing v3.5.5 build 570, so far no other issues discovered. Thanks!

mood: Thanks, this was the explanation. You just sit there drinking coffee and the flyout sails out, you wonder.

using the information you posted I have no difference.

I have network backdoor protection disabled in the GUI.

I have very 2 simple ways to test.

1 - cpu usage when downloading via steam and battle.net both which use lots of tcp sessions which HMPA struggles with.
2 - A SSH command line, as interestingly the network filter in HMPA disables the horrible nagle algorithm (which I like disabled), So a quick test to see if nagle is in affect on SSH can quickly tell me if the traffic is still going through the filtering driver, which it does.

Previously I had disabled the filter via another method posted here on the forums to prevent the driver compromising stability, but since it seems not so bad these days and I like the disabled nagle I have it running but with the lockdown protection disabled in GUI.
