The usual answer is "when it's ready"... ;)

Expect to see it around end of July. Typically a month after cinnamon/mate release.

    Regards.

Thanks TS4H, I will wait for it. I had a try to Cinnamon and too bad results, the audio goes out, de driver of the scanner doesn't work, too bad. But with XFCE all goes fine, even the comodo AV. I will have too wait only about 3 weeks and it is ok.

    :)

@zorro zorrito I was on XFCE as well. Definitely my favourite but Mate is up there. A nice compromise between performance and aesthetics. An upgrade path should be available not long after release as well if you can wait. Nothing beats a fresh install though.

    regards.

Ubuntu's first point release is around the corner, I'd wait for that as you'll have Xubuntu 16.04.1 available.

I installed it in one asus laptop and I use it for a wireless access point, it works fine. The question I make myself is the time it is going to last (one year, two years...).

Read the first sentence just under the desktop screenshot.

I like Enchantment OS.... serene wallpaper set with a Xubuntu 16.04.01 desktop.

Between XFCE and GNOME Classic, its really hard to decide between a user-friendly desktop with the look and feel of Windows.

On the non-Linux side, the latest Haiku OS nightly, despite being an alpha, is rock-solid. And having its own package manager is a definite plus.

You do know that Anti Virus programs can cause havoc with a Linux program and they are really not necessary.

AV isn't necessary for a Mac.

Hi all, I use AV in linux because I have installed wine to run some programs from windows. For example some time ago it happened that my browser (I.E.) was caught by some kind of virus. That's the reason to use AV.:)

This is why I installed a dual boot. While I do occasionally use Windows (mostly for graphics) it has become less often. I gave up trying to get Wine to work and don't see much need for it.
    Always,
    Wildman
