I guess It stores the score not the verdict

 

Windows 10, 3.45, Right click voodooshield.exe, select Voodooshield scan, popup comes up saying do you want to allow voodooshield, select allow, then a few moments later the same popup appears a second time but the popup stops responding and voodooshield sort of kills itself requiring to hard terminate and restart the application manually. It is a minor issue as generally no one will do this but hilarious none the less.

 

It seems VS has a problem analyzing itself

 

maybe this has been posted but on my machine if I right click and select exit and then ok and then click on the desktop icon the voodoshield icon never shows up again on my desktop,

 

I decided to update WAR, and while running the installer I got this popup from VS, which I didn't understand, but I allowed it because it seemed the right thing to do.

 

Can someone explain me this 2 settings (pictures)?

I found answer for first picture:
"Temporarily allow by publisher / digital signature until reactivation: Allowing items by digital signature in general can be dangerous. When enabled, once a new item is allowed and whitelisted, any child process of the newly whitelisted item is allowed, assuming that the digital signature matches. Allowing by digital signature is temporary, and only one digital signature of a parent process is allowed at any given time. Once a new item is allowed, the temporary digital signature changes to the digital signature of the newly allowed parent process."

But for second ("Trust the blacklist scan...") I couldn't find...

I think for the second one, if malware isn't detected the file is allowed and you may not be prompted. In the case of a zero-day that may not be so safe.

Can you give little details how does it stores scores?

 

It stores the analysis the sensitivity parameter you change only affects to the your result but the analisis and the details of it are stored in the cloud

 

Why VS block a safe application in Smart Mode?
If Smart Mode, should be based on the of detection (in this case Safe), enable launch applications without issues.

 

I think you have to activate AUTOPILOT, but even with autopilot enabled sometimes I get similar popups

If VT and Ai show that file is safe why apps still get blocked on
Auto-pilot or Smart settings?

 

I like this setup deny by default- show prompt instead of balloon.

 

are we able to disable context men scan? i like a thin context menu

 

I guess you can delete it if you don't want it. I suppose that dragging a file onto the desktop shield does the same thing but I suppose that there must be users who prefer a context menu scan option.

Delete key and subkey:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\VoodooShield Scan]

I'm having problems with VS switching to ON when a Truecrypt container is mounted. I see that some others were having this problem earlier in the year but I can't see a fix for it. Anyone know of a workaround or fix? Thx

 

Currently i'm not running VS, but if you're using the latest beta and see it switching to ON after mounting Volumes then it's not fixed yet.
VS maybe thinks that an USB-stick was inserted after mounting a volume: "Activate in smart mode when USB drive is inserted"

Would be nice if the developer can fix this.

 

Plus G Drive is a protected Drive (User Space) so the only way to Whitelist it is to use the Custom Folders setting.
