BETA V3.39 running smooth here; always run in SMART mode except for installing programs when I manually disable VS.

Currently running W10 AU x64, KTS2017, MBAM Pro, EMET. Everything is fully updated.

Here is 3.40... there is a chance that the freeze issue is fixed. If not, the DeveloperLog.log will have an entry (around the time of the freeze) that starts with "Void", and it will look something like this:

    [09-26-2016 01:32:06] [ERROR] - Void OpenUserPrompt(VoodooShield.ProcessItem, Boolean ByRef, Boolean, Boolean, Int32): 7

Please either post that one log entry that starts with "Void", or please send me your DeveloperLog.log. I do not need the memory dump or the DeveloperServiceLog.log. Thank you!

BTW, if it is not fixed, I only have one last idea to fix the issue. Other than that, I will have to see if I can hire someone else who is experienced in dealing with these types of issues.

Yes...unfortunately the chance "was" (3.39)...just after launching Firefox screen "automaticly" freezed. I know Vista is not popular system and causes some strange issue but earlier versions (deeper in the past) was stable and more satisfying. I have to try few older version so maybe I'll catch the last which works smooth.

    edit
there is new...3.40...so the chance still exists :)

Man, that was quick... do you mean 3.40? Was there a log entry that started with "Void"?

No freeze so far on 3.39 or 3.40 :thumb:

  13. 3.39 and 3.40 both have been working smooth and good as can be on my Host and in my Guest machines. Matter of fact, dropping 3.40 over the top of 3.39 went so smooth i had to check twice to make sure it did. Keep up the great work Dan!

  14. Well latest VS must have the most reviewed and optimized code base of all VS versions. fingers crossed.

    Cheers, Dan

All installed here (over the top rather than clean install) and so far so good...but fair to say that I am not one of those who has been plagued by freezes constantly...the occassional one and that is all...but I will keep an eye out, of course.

    Regards, Baldrick

Yeah, if you uninstall VS, and choose to delete the settings and log files, this will happen. Is this what is happening? Or after installing VS, you always see this screen? Either way it is an easy fix, thank you!

Yes, I installed it 3 times at least, but all in shadow mode. So it's normal? When you install the VS for the first time it will happens?

Ahhh, I see... yeah, that is why! I am not too familiar with Shadow Defender, but I think none of the programdata are kept when you reboot (along with other files and stuff)... but anyway, that is where VS's settings (.dat) files are kept, so they are deleted on reboot.

BTW... I just found a small toggling bug in VS 2.41, it is fixed now... I just kept the same version number since it was such a simple fix.

If you guys find anything else, please let me know, and I will catch up on the rest of the posts I missed soon... thank you!

Would not a bug it freezes when first installed?
What I mean is that it is not good that happens.
And congratulations for the work, for a long time that I am following your software.

Installed 3.40 but I didn't have any problems with prior versions. Everything looks fine for me.

As for mem usage Task Manager tells me something and Process Explorer/Hacker tells me something else.

But I want to thank Dan for my free license and for his hard work on VS. Hat off Dan. :thumb:
