Did you send them a PM here at Wilders? License issues have come up before and that is what has been advised.

  7. Ownership is transfered from Cleverbridge to the customer. read the legal conditions. The EULA is send after the purchase, since you are a user, what does the EULA tell you about support and/or after sales service?

Thanks @Tinstaafl and @Hiltihome for the reports. I rebooted the PC and the problem didn't come back, HMP.A scanned without issues. We'll see if things stay that way. ;)

Does HMP.A generally work well with Chrome?

Got a PM from ericloman this AM telling me to send an email to support@hitmanpro.com -- a colleague is responding to support requests sent there as eric is still on vacation.

Thank you for following this up for me, I am very grateful. After testing it out, it is the HP Alert that is causing the issue for me. I thought they were two parts of the same program. I want to keep it running but also use my preferred software. I am not sure which I should use, exclude or add and where to actually do this within the HP alert program.

    Thanks, Jeff

Here's a question for dedicated support: is the reason for the latest HMPA build delay due to its currently being incorporated into a Sophos product with signed drivers? If so, how is that going to be handled, are all current subscribers going to receive pro-rated subscriptions? and on and on and on. It's speculation but the security of my machine is a priority also. What if one doesn't want a Sophos substitute, glowing reviews notwithstanding? Hello?

    Open HitmanPro.Alert

If you are using the standard interface, click on the small cog icon at the top right corner.

Click on Advanced Interface, the display will now show the advanced settings.

Click on the blue Exploit Mitigation box.

    Click on Applications.

Scroll all the way to the right.

Under Exclude, click on Add Exclusion.

You now need to go and find the executable of the application you want to exclude.

OK, thank you SHvFI, for the info. Things could still change, though, so will have to wait, I guess.

Just to clarify my comments about Sophos few posts back, my intent was not to add suspicion about the future of HMPA , rather to show that it probably had a healthy future ahead due to it being incorporated into their enterprise product. That should mean massive support eventually.

Saw a related article today about the increasing threat of Ransomware...

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will host several panel discussions on ransomware next month to highlight the seriousness of the crime wave and offer businesses and consumers ideas to avoid becoming victims.

Mmm hmm, so you understand my unspoken concern about HMP-A and all those threats out there, bingo. There's someone around here who has his machines configured like fortresses he knows who he is, too :)--but without that expertise, you just have this one product to protect you and there's silence on its current status. OK, will have to wait because there's no other choice.

I have never relied on just one product. A layered security approach is best. Ultimately though, to me all these security apps are is just alerting mechanisms. My main source of security is regular full disk image backups. If I get attacked, my real plan is to wipe my drive and restore from a safe image :)

I have worked in IT for years and have been involved on both sides of mergers. To outsiders, it's just news headlines. But on the inside it's messy. Integrating teams, products, processes, etc. takes time. At some point everybody quits talking, because only the decision makers or their media reps are allowed to speak publicly. Nobody wants to make statements that could be interpreted as commitments until everything gets ironed out. It doesn't necessarily mean anything good or bad. It's the nature of the beast. Just be patient.

What do you mean by "silence on its current status"? HMPA is protecting just as much now as it has in the past.

Guess what? I just installed, or tried, HMP on a new machine and was also informed my Product Key had reached its limit. I have two machines with HMP/HMP.A activated and a three PC licence which I cannot activate on my third PC.

    Email sent!

@hawki , did you hear back?

I messaged that email address too with the exact same issue and have yet to receive a reply but it's only been a day so I'm not worried.

For me it is useless to contact support at this time til the windows 10 AU issue is permanently resolved. Then I can again apply for a reset for 3 keys.
Yet the silence is getting to me.......
