Random server connection failures on update

Hi! Is someone else experiencing this (see subject)? Tried a manual update at 23.55 CEST, and I managed to get the update only after 3 times. On the previous 2, the process stuck when connecting to a server called "sun.uid0.sk". I actually saw a couple of files being donloaded very slowly, but everything seemed to timeout after a while. On the third attempt, NOD managed to DL the remaining file(s), but still very slowly. The same thing happened yesterday, same time, but I thought it was just an unlucky run.

Strangely enough, I was not having any problem during the last days, when someone was complaining for something similar.
Tried all the 3 settings (nod32.com, esetsoftware.com, eset.sk), but it seems I am forwarded to uid0 every time. I'm on ADSL, perfectly working 1.28 kbps, Europe. Any clue or similar experience?

    Bye

    Hi all,

this is for all having these problems:

Please set the update Server in NOD32 Control Center->Update->Update->Setup to "<Choose automatilcaly>" (if applicable) and retry.

If there should be any problem with that, please post here your NOD32 System information:

    NOD32 Control Center->NOD32 System Tools->Information

    Thanks, :)

Thank you for your answer, Jan. After my last post, I still experienced some delays, but there's no pattern in it. I can tell you for sure that sun.uid0.sk is always involved when delays happen. I have now switched to "choose automatically", I'll keep you informed about the result.

    Cheers

UPDATE: After changing the settings to "Choose automatically", no more rejected connections in 3 days, and download speed normal. BTW, it seems I am now forwarded to different servers than uid0, the main culprit of the previous failures.

Problem solved here (it seems :D ).

    Cheers

Did you by chance add those update locations to the default list?
The reason I ask is, they differ from my default list of update servers.

    Hi Ron -- no I didn't

I'm not smart enough to do something like that. I downloaded and installed on Oct 25. I was using a trial version prior to that.

does everyone else have "choose automatically"?

    Did I somehow get a limited "collector's edition" o_O

Indeed it looks like it, where can I get my copy? ? ?

    Can you try uninstalling Nod32

Remove the Eset Folder from C> Program Files

Reinstall a FRESH copy of Nod32

Let us know how you go…

    Cheers :D

    Hello B.Spears

Now i'm just like everyone else (?)

I downloaded and installed a new copy. I'm keeping my 'limited edition' in safe keeping - and I will make it available on the web at a later date ;)

I have tried everything mentioned here and elsewhere in this forum but autoupdate still does not work. I manually set the update to look only at one server. Manual update now seems to work but auto still comes back with 11004 error. Auto update simply does not work

Hi Cam, what operating system are you using?

    What version of Nod32?

Is the copy you have of Nod32 a Trial version or Commercial?

    Cheers :D

Commercial version. Only paid for it about a month ago. Autoupdate hasn't worked. Autoupdate worked ok on trial version. And yes I did do an uninstall of the trial version and a reboot before intstalling the commercial version.
Where it says update succesfull is where I clicked on the manual update.

Hi Cam, can you please download a FRESH copy of Nod32 from www.nod32.com, then uninstall Nod32

Remove the Eset Folder from C> Program Files.

Remove any previous versions of Anti-virus software on your system.

    Reinstall the FRESH copy Nod32.

Let us know how you go…

    Cheers :D

I am using a firewall, but it is not blocking nod32 as I can connect manually and there is nothing showing up in the log for the firewall
