Hey there! I'd like to share my experience and thoughts with/about CCAV on my host machine and on a VM with a VERY out of date copy of Windows 7x64 So on my host OS (and the intentionally out of date VM) I have CCAV set to sandbox everything inside of sandboxie's sandbox folders. I don't know if that does anything to benefit me, but if i want to terminate everything I have installed inside the sandbox without terminating anything I use in the sandbox that's installed OUTSIDE the sandbox it comes in handy for that. Overall I love it. There's really only like...three settings that need to be changed from their defaults to make it (almost) idiot-proof. Set the AV to either block or quarantine all known threats automatically, turn on "Do NOT show virus-scope alerts" and set the sandbox to "Run only safe applications" and voila! 90% idiot proof and a pretty much absolute certainty that you're never going to get infected with anything. The only gripe I have about it is (at the time of writing this) that when a result from Valkyrie comes back as malicious, it leaves it up to the user to decide what to do with it. To word it differently. The result came back from the cloud server that a file on your machine is malicious. It's a verified THREAT and you're still dead set on making it so that the user has to tell the program to do it's job AFTER they've set the antivirus to be automatic. And yes I realize Valkyrie is a different component, but I just can't understand why Comodo insists upon bombarding their users with Yes/No alerts. (going off on a rant past this) CCAV is much better about what I'm about to bring up, but CIS still has this problem. If you give a normal user an alert with Allow, Block and Sandbox....Do you know what every average user is going to click EVERY time they see an alert like that? Do you know how often they'll bother to read alerts like those? "Allow" and "Never" are the correct answers to those questions in the same order I asked them. When I convinced people to use CCAV I got them to follow my instructions and change those three settings, but that's a tiny percentage of the userbase that's going to follow those instructions. Most users are going to have to click the green checkmark every time their copies of CCAV catch a known threat. And they're going to have to press a button before Valkyrie will do its job and every time virus scope catches something (rant is done) It would be nice if there was a menu in it that was meant to add a list of folders where your personal files are that would protect them from all unknown files (namely ransom ware that hasn't been discovered yet) like there is in CIS. That's it! those are my thoughts and experiences on it
Can anyone confirm is the lagginess of the first few betas was every resolved. There used to be a noticable delay in opening new files, programs, etc, as if it was checking EVERYTHING in the cloud with a slow connection. Not sure how else to explain it.
A user BlueTesta on Comodo Forums tested latest CCAV with 1 Cryptolocker & CCAV Failed i.e Files Encrypted. I have uploaded the test on zippyshare, here is the link CCAV vs Cryptolocker.mp4 http://www104.zippyshare.com/v/WU7WzDUN/file.html
Just uninstalled this. Comodo's programs always sound great, but always seem to disappoint in the end. The problem they have now, is the same problem they have had ever since going to default deny. To use such an approach, you need to have GREAT whitelisting. Comodo has really crappy whitelisting. For this last go around, it was QBitorrent. It is a fairly popular program. It has been submitted for whitelisting many times over the years, in fact I know I have submitted it myself a couple times. Yet it still get sandboxed. ugh I love the description/promise of CCAV(sandbox, cloud analysis, etc.), but as with CIS, it doesn't seem to recognize many common programs and drivers. Qbittorrent, AMD video drivers, MakeMKV, Handbrake, backupper, and old leftover Webroot file, etc... Most of the files submitted to valkyrie last night(24 hours ago) still never got results. I suspect valkyrie is overwhelmed, due to Comodo's poor whitelisting, way more files are getting submitted than should be. I don't mean to sound harsh. I admire that they develope all this software and mostly offer it for free, but they have broken my heart so many times. I can't remember the last time one of their products lasted on my machine more than a couple days.

For the latest release, they have mentioned improved Valkyrie server system But they haven't mentioned Valkyrie is fully live. I am running previous version & Valkyrie works on/off. Haven't upgraded to today released version yet.

I've been using Comodo on and off since probably 2006 and for me to hear that Comodo is in "early beta" is actually progress because most of the time it seems like dealing with Alpha stage software, far too buggy. To be fair, CFW in the past few months has been good, but trying anything related to AV is simply a realisation that Melih thinks that anything not whitelisted is denied, and wating for whitelisting takes ages, and the whitelisting seems to be based on filename not hashes.
Whitetlisting is based mostly on certs, if it doesn't have cert then hashes, but I think that now the the cloud component is the first time they are keeping a whitelist in the cloud made of hashes

"Comodo Cloud Antivirus team is currently working hard both on improvements about system architecture and the Valkyrie server side" As always. Working! The problem is that CCAV is NOT.
