Hi @boredog, I believe @SHvFI is correct. You can drag the file over to VoodooShield's gadget to scan a file.

I'm going to be trying this latest beta on a fresh Windows 10 install. How do you collect and send the logs, just in case it does freeze for me?

    In C:\ProgramData\VoodooShield you have 2 logs DeveloperServiceLog.log and DeveloperLog.log.
I copy them to the desktop, zip them and sent them by email to Dan support@voodooshield.com

sent my logs files a bit ago. I did notice a set from the 19th as well as the one from the 26th.
now I am wondering if I should have sent the older set too?

Hey everyone, sorry I have been away, but things should get back to normal soon, so I will catch up asap.

I just wanted to mention a few things. Hopefully Vlad will be able to start on the last few items / bugs soon, so hopefully the freeze issue will be fixed very soon. Also, VS is going to be tested by AV-Comparatives soon, so I am excited to see the results! Thank you guys, talk to you soon!

So I was playing around with the program and I can't seem to verify anything using the VoodooAI thing. It's telling me: VoodooAi is not yet available for this file type. But the programs are commonly used applications, and it was working earlier. I'm not sure if I ticked something by accident, or what I've done. Half the time the bubble isn't popping up asking me to do anything. It's even doing it to programs it was working on previously.

An example: Try to launch firefox.exe. It prompts, then it says that it doesn't have a classification for it. With chrome it's not even prompting. The only thing I've changed from the default settings is to untick automatically trust applications in the program files folder.

I've determined it's not classifying applications at all in the program files folder, and the programfiles (x86) folder. But it seems to be functioning for every other folder. It also prompts to run all of the files in these folders both on autopilot and Whitelistmode: always on. Is this typical?

I've just had a freeze after noticing that VoodooShield wasn't active when launching Firefox. Right-clicked on the tray and it has frozen. I've emailed the logs to you Dan.

Had another freeze again this morning, just right-clicking on the VS tray icon. Will send those logs again in case they help.

  16. No freeze problems here. Hope Vlad will sove this real soon, so V3 can be released.

I must convince, I put VS on my wife's laptop after some discussions with Dan. We discussed some strategies to minimize pop-ups. Dan sticked to one of his design principles, stating my arguments were purely theoretical and in practice it would proof to be a non-issue.

So Dan challenged me to put VS on wife's laptop (a click happy security noob). I have to admit: no problems, no issues, no Keeessssssssssss (which happens when I put to restrictive or to intrusive software on her PC). VoodooShield (in AutoPilot mode) could well be the first Anti-Executable suited for large audience.

Cruel Sister's tests have only increased my trust in VS.

    Regards Kees

What are this "strategies to minimize pop-ups"?
I would like to put it on my girlfriend PC also...;)

  18. Simply until now only WSA and VoodooShield were able to work fine. I lost my lifetime license of WSA when I upgraded to Windoes 10, luckily VS free works also fine.

The other strategy is to have a busy social life which involves different friends (so your wife is not your shadow and vice versa), so you are seperate experiences and storys ;)

Yeah, AutoPilot mode is good And VS could be the first Anti-Executable suited for larger audience.

I have tried on my family shared system of average users & my experience -

AutoPilot works good for the most part & daily activities - AutoPilot is good for average users.

Some FPs from Blacklist Scan - List of Blacklist Scan AVs in the GUI would help to solve/minimize the prob...Users can select/unselect the AVs for detection...Hope list of AVs is introduced in the GUI.

VAi - Sensitivity Level option is there in the GUI...Users can test & select the sensitivity level...Good

Vulnerable Processes - This is the thing thats a trouble for my family (average users) i.e Recommendation on the popup is "Block" for vulnerable processes And some programs install get affected on blocking...In previous VS versions, I use to uncheck vulnerable processes option but now the option is not there in the GUI...Waiting for the option to be implemented.

can I ask why you use AutoPilot mode and not locked down?

  22. Lock down mode is more for people knowing enough abut PC security to deal with lock state and selectively allow updates. Lockdown is more secure, but would be to difficult to deal with for people having little knowledge/interest in security (e.g. average PC user).

  23. Well these were the things I also discusses with Dan. Worded differently, but basically addressing simular issues (my order of priority):

    1. I suggested to exclude by default a few AV engines in blacklist scan which are notorious for FP's.
    2. AI sensitivity when vulnarable program is running 100%, otherwise relax to 90%
    3. I asked Dan to set recommendation defaults based on AI-score and whether or not signer was on a internal trusted list (superset maintained by VS, subset limited to already installed programs which is determined during VS system snapshot).

On the other hand I also noticed that AI gets better as more people are using it (reducing the need for above suggestions and Dan's focus is on solving the freeze issue first). When VS v3 launches to market more users will feed the machine learning part of the AI-engine, which will improve VS accuracy. Imagine how VS would perform when Dan only had a tenth of the resources from Cylance to train his machine learning solution.
