Sandboxie remains the only program that I consistently use but even that is on demand.

I do struggle with anti-exe's in particular which is unfortunate as I have licenses for three of them. I just find they ruin my experience of using my computer.

Appguard, Exe Radar Pro and HitmanPro Alert. I liked them enough to buy them and I respect the people behind these programs but all of them in some stopped legitimate stuff working on my pc up until the point I felt happier removing them. It was just a personal choice.

    HitmanPro.Alert is an anti-exploit, not anti-exe. ;)

Lol. I thought I was going to get caught out using the term anti-exe.

I am thinking about trying Voodooshield but I do find myself put off by UAC being disabled. I am impressed by how much it's changed in giving the user a more informed choice about whether a program is safe.

Thank you for letting me know about this as it makes a massive difference to me.

  10. There is a tutorial in Firewall section (link).

Here is a picture of my rules, but that does not help much.

Added ScriptSafe (Chrome) only Fringerprint Protection.
    Unistalled Canvas Defender.

I thought you posted the tip to start Chrome with the --disable-reading-from-canvas switch. Why add extra canvas protection?

    EIS + VS combo:

    Emsisoft Internet Security:
    • Firewall: ask for Trustworthy and Unknown programs for Incoming and Outgoing connections.
    • Behavior Blocker: If a program shows suspicious behavior but can't be exactly verified: Display alert window.
    VoodooShield 3.30 in Smart Mode.

In general PC feels lite but sometimes it freezes for 5-10 sec.

    Here's mine:
Antivirus & Firewall: ESET Smart Security
    HIPS & Anti-Keylog: Spyshelter Premium
    Whitelisting: VoodooShield
    Anti-Exploit: Hitman Pro Alert

Also using: Process Lasso(Hi Jeremy :D), Kerish Doctor, O&O Defrag
O&O Defrag tip: first do offline defrag, then SPACE defrag and then Complete/NAME defrag. Dropped about 10 sec of my windows 7 boot time. Steam, photoshop, InDesign loads a lot faster now.

    Is it a temporary exile?

    An honorable discharge?

at the moment, more like fed up by constant updates because it broke something or is incompatible with OS or softs updates, and i have ReHIPS which does as good as Sbie with the benefit of an HIPS on top.

Thank you. I use SBIE atm alongside with Comodo Firewall. I'm considering honorable temporary (IDK for how long though) retirement of SBIE.
