New and happy user of VS. One thing, when I power my computer on in the morning the VS icon in the taskbar stays red until I move the mouse, then it will turn blue. I am in Autopilot mode. Is this normal? Thanks.

I completely uninstall then install it again, the same UI bugs.

I blocked 2 files, but VS show me 0.

yes it is and not only on autopilot; VS detect when your computer is idle and turn the lock "OFF" to avoid background processes blockings.

to avoid this, you have to go to Advanced and uncheck "Automatically deactivate after x minutes of system idle"

    Just installed VS 3.30.

I was running VS 3.28 in Smart mode. Only problem, after a couple of days it stopped turning off when I closed browser. No freeze of laptop, but right click on icon brought up list of modes and VS froze. We'll see how 3.30 does after a couple of days.

Installed 3.29 on 28 June and so far no issues with it. Did change from Avast to Avira - don't know if that had any effect.

Been getting these command line prompts that past few days. At present been blocking them and right now not sure what they are about. when I look in the commandline section it shows a bunch of AdGuard entries.

just came back to my computer after a few hours and it was in sleep or hibernate mode. when I logged back in and opened either IE or outlook icon stays red. had to right click on tray icon to turn back on but appears frozen and the right click menu just stays open and won't close. not allowing anything to be clicked on.

    That's the freeze. :(

You can either kill VS in Task Manager and reopen it, or restart.

The reason for that Option is just in case your away from your PC and something like Windows Updates are allowed to run and don't get blocked by VS and for users that run there system 24/7. I leave mine checked and no issues but maybe others and Dan will have other advice!

Well, that's what I've been experiencing with the latest betas - a total system freeze without any cure except to turn off/on the PC. I've rarely seen this in the past with any other software, apart from the occasional BSOD over the years.
    It's very strange.

Just to confirm that the only rare freeze I get with VS is when waking up the PC from idle or sleep mode. Then the only way to recover VS is to kill it via task manager and restart. I can't replicate it for troubleshooting purposes as it happens rarely.

    MJRegWatcher
    EMET
    PrivacyFence
The only two of those that are problematic - MJRegWatcher uses regedit.exe
PrivacyFence causes VS to crash. There is a workaround.

    Not related to freezes.
I don't see any VS freezes except once when attempting to disable VS during a scanned process launch. (New it was a safe process)

    2) I'm not using VS to block any apps on purpose except:

    c:\windows\system32\werfault.exe -u -p 4948 -s 2068

    why did you chose to block c:\windows\system32\werfault.exe -u -p 4948 -s 2068?
just curious because I was see cylance blocking that for a while but then they decided not to anymore. I did look up that file when I was seeing it blocked.
