still buggy:

the "Custom Folders" issue is partially resolved; we can now select the non-system partitions but VS doesn't save the changes.

 

The "User Log" tell me that there are 4 blocked threat, but there is only one I see in the list & nothing in Quatrain.!

Upgrading Win 7 x64 to Win 10 (or trying to), 'Preparing for installation ...'.

VS in Disable / Install mode: dismhost.exe gets blocked (a few times).

Edit: That's v3.29. Also, got some message re cloud scanner busy, so it's accessing the blacklist in this mode as well?

You will not get a notification until it's released we are still Beta testing so updating has to be done manually until v3 is released!

 

May I ask what mode your running VS in? Autopilot or Whitelisting Mode? I always run in Smart Whitelisting Mode!

 

Hi Dan install of v.3.3o on top of v3.29 went like a breeze yesterday evening. when I did a restart of my laptop when vs started up I got a greyed out logo for a few seconds ( freeze ? ) then it switched on to normal ( autopilot mode ).

330 was working fine but froze my PC completely requiring a hard reboot when I started it up last night. I've sent you extracts from the two logs starting with the session it got the hump. I'm running in Smart mode with "trust the blacklist scan" unticked.

1. Can everyone list all of your REALTIME security products that your running with VS as there should be a common ground as to these freezes as I have not seen any and the only programs I use is in my Signature. WSA, Glasswire and VS.
2. Are some users blocking certain apps/programs from running by blocking them with VS?
3. If one can replicate please post the actions you did that causes the freezes.
4. Are the freezes just happening on certain OS's and 32bit or 64bit?

i use everything in my signature, no issues with VS, just some small UI bugs.

 

Im running Beta 3.30 in the Virtual Machine on windows 10 pro, with all my analysis tools, and windows default security, and no freezes or issues that i have seen as of yet.

No issues. See also post #10798 where this was tried before. Hope more respond this time.

The only freezing issue I have experienced in the past was when I was using VS under Shadow Defender. I now always exit VS before entering SD when I test other software to avoid potential conflicts. I prefer not to commit files when in shadow mode.

Just to report one freez...

Yesterday I was watchig online movie in fullscreen and VS gadget was bother me so I try to Hide it and VS freez. Only thing that I could do is kill VS from "Task Manager".
Afther that I was start VS again and everithig is back to normal (for now).

I will catch up on the other posts asap, but real quick...

Vlad is going to look at the code in about a week to isolate the freeze issue. In the meantime, anyone who has had a problem with VS freezing, can you please run 3.08 for a week, and let us know if VS freezes at all for the next week? I am 99% sure that the freeze bug happened between 3.08 and 3.09, and if we know for certain that 3.08 does not freeze, it should be super easy to track down... especially since we have eliminated a lot of the other possible issues.

You will probably want to delete all of the .dat files in C:\ProgramData\VoodooShield, just to be sure.

Vlad will probably have the freeze issue fixed in 3 minutes... I will also see if he wants to proofread all of the changes I made since he last worked on VS.

Realtime as per signature, that is Win 7 x 64 bit, VS beta, ZAM premium, MBAE, Noscript and Ghostery in Palemoon and Slimjet Browsers.
No issues at all.

 

I am completely with you, just some small UI bugs. All reported above.
I see VS is stable, I use it in "Smart" mode which is default sitting on Win. 10 Pro 64bit.

I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 as real time protection + Unhackme + sure VS

On demand scanner : MBAM free and ZAM free.

 

VS free beta 3.30 (smart mode) - No freezing issues here.

Win 10 x64 - HMP.A - ZAM Premium - Windows Defender deactivated.

 

Okay how about the ones with the freezing issue what are you running?

 

Guys, good idea, let's try to find a pattern. Hope members with freeze issue state their OS and other security software plus mode what they were using.

 

Win10 64-bit x2 machines = freezes.
