so from where como gets the results? from VT? Valkyrie must be using this info too Do you have it installed, check the "lucky you" button
They pull the results directly from VT but it's not factored in to Valkyrie verdict. "lucky you" that your using Valkyrie. This is what your previous AV missed. Why do you say "they must be using this info" . This info is fairly new to the Valkyrie page. It wasnt there in the earlier versions. If you go to the Valkyrie website and create an account it will allow you to select which vendors you want to see detections for to compare it to Valkyrie. Even if you don't select anything it won't affect Valkyries final verdict.
Concentration on Valkyrie is among the things that Comodo should scrap. For example, a mid-generation Zeta sample (2 weeks old) uploaded to Valkyrie still will result in a "File is not analyzed by Valkyrie before and there is no currently running analysis exists..." message. As Val has been around for a while I would expect the results to be a bit more robust (like telling me it is very, very bad). Dump Val and get the API.
I didn't get you. Are you talking about Valkyrie website? Valkyrie website gives automatic analysis verdict Safe/Malicious/Unknown for the uploaded samples. And Valkyrie has AI, Machine Learning, etc mechanism. Later manual analysis verdict is there but this takes time.
I'd definitely recommend using the site to submit files to Valkyrie over ccav. It's much quicker for now. Ccav still needs a a lot of work. https://valkyrie.comodo.com/
YN- the point I was trying to make is that Comodo/Valkyrie did not have the file in their database even though it has been in the wild for 2 weeks. That is totally unacceptable no matter what reason is used for the failing. WS- staff attrition in the AV segment.
@cruelsister High employee turnover (A) might explain code quality problems (B). Are you assuming (A) because of (B) or do you know (A) for a fact? regards Kees
COMODO has internal staffing problems. Turnover & understaffed. It's up-and-down over time. No surprise... There were\are problems in Chennai, India. There was a massive flood months back - and that probably figures into it.
In my opinion they should play to their strength, and traditional AV detection by whatever method is not one of them.

They are working on moving to much bigger servers. We were told it would be ready by the end of June so hopefully it's ready very soon.
Looks like the new valkyrie servers are NOT live yet https://forums.comodo.com/news-anno...s-released-t116109.0.html;msg838341#msg838341
Of course is not fully up yet. It should have been since the end of June. Now they say in the next weeks... I wonder when it will be, maybe the next year. Just like CIS 10 beta: they said first quarter of the year, we are already in summer and no trace of it. It is even forbidden to ask on their forum, as if it was some State secret.
@garrett76 Totally agree! I was all set to use this on a production machine, so glad i did not. Let's be honest it should have stayed as 'closed beta' until the product worked as advertised
