    1. Yes
    2. That's right for updater
    3. Correct for internet-facing
    4. @guest uses D:\ for portable apps to cut down on disk memory utilization - but also to keep them separate from System Space; it is OK for portable apps in currently assigned directory.

Portable apps that are not used very often can be kept in non-system partition\drive and executed un-Guarded when needed.

I just solve it by adding CCleaner (only portable app I use on flash drive) to Power Apps.

I haven't been following this thread in detail for a while, due to other commitments, but I see there are posts relating to the use of an additional partition to run portable applications.

Any partition used for holding applications, rather than user data, logically belongs in system space.

Why not simply move the additional partition from user space to system space then add any applications that need guarding to the guarded apps list? This should solve most problems and is consistent with the way AppGuard is designed to work.

Add the portable apps-directory to System Space (Include=No) + and add it as an exception folder (Read/Write)
Only apps that needs guarding are then added to the Guarded Apps list (as mentioned above)
After each update you have to add it again. Why not add it to User-Space with a wildcard:
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayer* (Include=Yes)
Now each file-version is automatically guarded and can't access your Private Folders.

Edit: Oops  these different plugins (Active-X, Pepper, Firefox) are named FlashUtil* not FlashPlayer* .
Edit 2: I forgot that files in User-Space are blocked in Locked Down.

The programs in question are portable - so it shouldn't matter where you place them.

The problem is that AppGuard and Rollback RX don't play well together where your user-defined non-system partition is concerned...

It works if Rollback Rx is uninstalled - correct ?

    indeed, @pegr tip doesn't work.

yes without RX , it works.

    • Uninstall most Windows Apps (OneDrive, Mail, etc - keep only ones I use - like 6)
    • Disable all unneeded Services (more than half shipped with Windows)
    • Disable network discovery
    • Disable file and printer sharing
    • Disable Bluetooth
    • Do not use Microsoft Account
    [/QUOTE]

Hej Hjlbx, may I ask You about :
    - You use - like 6 ? what You mean ?
    - How do You uninstall onedrive and mail etc?
    - how do You disable all unneeded services ?

    Regards

    1. I keep Weather, Calc, Movies & TV, Phone, Cortana, Store (I get rid of all other Windows Apps)
    2. WinPrivacy10 + there are many on-line guides on how to remove Windows Apps

There are bunch of free utilities to disable\uninstall W10 features: WinPrivacy10, DoNotSpy10, Windows Privacy Tweaker (Phrozen Soft), etc. WinPrivacy10 is really the only one that offers to uninstall OneDrive - but it doesn't completely uninstall it; you have to use one of the online tutorials after using WinPrivacy10.

    3. Easy Services Optimizer (sordum.org) + Black Viper's on-line guide to disable services (ESO does this for you, but I learned by trial-and-error which ones I can disable)

    thank You.
but which utility is the best ? WinPrivacy10 ?

I think WinPrivacy10 is the best. You have to run it with AppGuard set to Install or Off. It uses Powershell. So if you added Powershell to User Space, "Allow User Space Launches" will not work...

Check out Easy Service Optimizer too.

It takes a lot of time to read up on all the infos online regarding services, uninstalling apps, etc - but it is worth it...

in WinPrivacy do You turn off all? because there shows by color what is stronger ?

I turn off most. I keep what I think is essential. It's a huge list to post.

You can disable or uninstall something, if you don't like it then you can undo it.

I uninstall what I don't use. I disable most of the others - except important things like Windows Defender.

    I keep telemetry.

Did You turn off windows defender?
Almost everybody turn off telemetry? Why did stay with this?

    I keep Windows Defender.

I let M$ collect appcrash data, error reporting - so maybe they can fix. It helps other users. They don't use the data to spy on you...

File path to Guarded Apps must be explicit; wild card(s) in Guarded App file path is not supported - to prevent any unintended consequences.

    I know.
In my last post i said that you can add (FlashPlayerPlugin) to User Space (where you can use wildcards) instead of Guarded Apps (without wildcards).
But i forgot that you're using Locked Down and it's blocked if you add it to User Space.
