I already see. The uninstall.exe was created by vlc-2.2.4-win32.exe. Then the uninstall.exe is being executed by explorer.exe. The message clearly states this.
Problem is, is seems that vlc-2.2.4-win32.exe has Application Lockdown enabled. Application Lockdown means that the program is only going to be used to view/edit data files (documents, images, video's). It will never drop executables to disk. In this case it did. I assume its a setup vlc-2.2.4-win32.exe. What strikes me is that Application Lockdown got enabled on this setup in the temp folder. This should never happen! It will lead to the above message. I hope I am making sense.

Can you click in Alert's UI on the Blue Tile and then 'Applications' and look for the vlc-2.2.4-win32.exe.

I checked my Windows 7 x64 system with VLC media player 32 bit installed.
HMP.A has Application Lockdown enabled for vlc.exe 32 bit.
I haven't tried uninstalling VLC media player 32 bit.

HMPA has vlc.exe added to the list. I think when VLC updates it downloads the newer version to temp, I can recreate the issue by updating VLC and then trying to uninstall it as soon after without reboot. If I reboot, then HMPA no longer complains but ESET this time complains about Au_.exe.

From how you described it HMPA did its job, even before ESET, so that's good.

    Also thanks for describing Au_.exe.

When I update software, is it wise to disable mitigations first?

    Hello,

It looks like version 3.1.11.374 has been released today according to the SurfRight website. As of this time, there has been no changelog posted to the Release History page.

I updated HP.Alert from 373 to 374, but just after the reboot, all the USB tree in device manager was messed up with several driver malfunction warning message. I usually run HP.Alert with default settings without problem. I tried to restore factory settings and reboot but problem was not solved. At the moment I unistalled HP.Alert. This is the first time I experience problem. All the past update went fine.

Could someone give me the link to download the previous 373 release ? Thanking in advance.

Thanks for your support, at the moment my OS is running fine with no error of any kind. But I'm without HP.Alert.

Here follow the report from the reliability history log:

No BSOD but several warning message from Action Center.

After HitmanPro Alert uninstall, I cleaned the registry from any leftover and then reinstalled HitmanPro Alert 374. Problem 100% solved, everything is running fine and no more USB issue.
    Thanks for support.

With HMPA 3.1, is it pretty much download, install and you're ready to go -- or are a lot of settings and configuration changes required in order to be protected? And what about using it with App Guard?

HMPA default settings are strong; just make sure that all browsers and other internet facing apps are shown as protected (it is sometimes necessary to add an app if it is not detected and added automatically). As for using it with App Guard I can't comment, but perhaps someone else can chime in about that :)

Can someone tell me If I purchase the 3PC-3YR license for HitmanPro/HItmanPro.Alert and I only activate 2 PC's will the 3rd PC be "Unactivated" till I need it on another PC in the future? Or is it the same license for all 3 PC's? If someone can chime in and let me know... Much appreciated!

    Hello Erik and Mark

Do you have an estimated release date for Hitman alert 3.5 or do you have to do a lot more testing ?

    Keep up the good work

I think the best answer to this is the product will be released when it's ready and it'll be announced in this thread. It is going through a private beta test at the moment and I imagine there will be a wider public beta test after that.

To my best recollection, and if nothing changed, recently -- when you activate a 3PC-3YR license for one or two PC's, the clock starts counting for all three.

Even, if You don't use none of them, still all will expire in three years.

I know erikloman has said in the past that the license has to be activated on the PC for the "timer" to start, unless things have changed since then. But what I'm wanting to know if that includes the 3PC version? Is it 3 different license codes that's independent of each other regarding activation? That's what I'm trying to find out.

Agreed, if like any AV once one is activated they ALL start counting down.

According to my experience, things go like this:
If you have only one key, countdown-timer starts for all licences, when you activate the license on the first PC.

    I bought a 3PC-3YR license for HitmanPro/HitmanproAlert. I received ONE license key.
The 3 year license expiration time clock started running when activating the license on the first 2PC's(W7).
The 3th PC (W10) was activated later, but the license expiration time was the same as the expiration time of the already activated/running 2PC's(W7).

No problems with Appguard, but c:\windows\cryptoguard needs to be set as an Exception (Read/Write) folder under Guarded Apps>Settings.
