This is no surprise, why on earth would people use these kind of browsers? The browser is the perfect tool to spy on people.

It's the best browser I've ever used. Regarding the connections, perhaps @GakunGak can look into it?

I switched to Cent Browser and it works great. No suspicious host connections. Too bad, I had really liked 360 Browser but can't trust it unless these issues are cleared up.

So, where to begin? For others that don't know, 360 Extreme Explorer is for chinese users only, although international users are using it because of localization translation [os dependent] to English.

    Here is general information:
    - based on heavily modified Chromium 45 https/2 javascript ES6
    - Has blink45 GPU graphics accelerator engine for better performance
    - Has Internet Explorer Legacy [old version for compatibility webpage display] and latest IE/Edge [Edge available in W10]
    - Has internal Broswer Doctor, to fix webpage loading, browser crashing, slow connection to web pages, etc....
    - Has internal anti phishing/anti scam protection [false positives may occur here!]
    - several search optimizations [china]
    - Internal ad blocking filters
    - Download accelerator [mirrors or 360 Cloud] and upload to 360 cloud disk [requires 360 account]
    - 360 account for sync of settings, bookmarks, themes, passwords....
    - Shopping protection
    - Mouse gesture, if you're into such a thing :)
    - Bookmarks recovery from cloud disk, in case you delete something and you need it back!
    - Auto kernel [engine] choose for web page, also manual
    - LABS: Picture magnifier, huge ram and junk cleanup [browser only!], accelerator, links preload/preview, Thunder download accelerator, DirectWrite for better font display.
    - Shopping assistant [china]
    - password/form save/fill

It is compatible to install and use Chrome extensions. Do have in mind if switched to IE/Edge, chrome extensions WILL NOT WORK/BE ACTIVE.

Also keep in mind that is pinging 360 and other services for malicious webpage protection and shopping. So, outgoing connections is 360 Account, Yunpan cloud drive, 360 Security Center for malware, scam and phishing, search engine enhancement, shopping protection and download accelerator.

As for spying rumor, data that is being collected is webpage behaviour, impact on browser, 360 account related services and shopping records for eventual disputes.
If you are outside China, you are not covered under shopping protection service.

Not a rumor. I have observed this behavior first hand. Of all my browsers only 360 makes suspicious host connections to witkey.com (101.200.81.187). Witkey.com is a blacklisted site known to host spyware and malware.

Please kindly provide list of extensions installed in your browser and if this thing happens in incognito mode [no extensions allowed]?
I'll get on it asap, awaiting yours.

Yes, it's crazy, even known companies like Google and Mozilla should not be blindly trusted.

    Here's new update, as promised:

Hi GakunGak, I've got back to work now, and our 360 Extreme Browser says that our browser will not connect any site or domain. Otherwise please advise the user to uninstall or stop his extensions to have a try

and I will reply your question later

@Petrovic What I meant, and let me rephrase that, is that there are tech inside that are benefitial to China only, like shopping protection and phisshing :)
But it is, I like multi engine browsers. Kinda wish Avant Browser evolved more and got frequent updates and engine updates on the fly :)
