Anything on post #1937? Although it doesn`t seem to scan inside archives when drag and dropped onto the scan area!

"Fad: I also see the "DNS Hijack" warning due to Acrylic DNS using 127.0.0.1

I guessed it was warning against anything that had altered that value, so I exclude it manually."

It does not work for me to exclude it manually. Also on my machine I let Zemana fix it and when done I run a scan again and it is right back.

I still think this is an issue with Zemana and Heidmal on my system

I think at one time I was doing the beta but when my computer crapped out and I restored it, I ended up going back to the trial Premium version.

I am having issues with Heimdal Pro (services crash, DNS keeps being reset between 127.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.1), and thought it may be a conflict with ZAM. Uninstalled ZAM but Heimdal issues are still there.

Same conflict beetwen Heimdal pro and ZMA...
Like you, uninstall ZAM and Keep Heimdal Pro - a very good soft IMHO ;-) who works silently in background. 20 sites were blocked... Some I frequently visit were only blocked for a short time and for a few hours or day, before access was restored.

Like I said, my Heimdal issues persist, even after uninstalling ZAM.
One thing I do know - I have tested ZAM scan does not complete and crashes with Heimdal Pro installed on my Win 8.1 x64 system, not so when Heimdal Pro is removed.
So for now I will retain ZAM and uninstall Heimdal Pro.

Using ZAM free, and the tray icon disappeared since a few days.
    Anyone noticed that too?

Too early to say for sure, but after ZAM uninstall and a reboot my Heimdal Pro issues appear to be gone - I do believe there is some sort of conflict between these two ...

I had mentioned this to ZAM support previously but they could not reproduce it.

So yes, have also uninstalled ZAM now and keeping Heimdal Pro (see post above).

Have again contacted ZAM support to see if they can check compatibility ... seems surprising that there would be some sort of conflict at the DNS level?

We tried to contact Heimdal two times for this, but we got no response. Serious company indeed.

Thanks THE. Hmm ... not good. I have normally found support at heimdalsecurity.com to be quite responsive. Have emailed them now also.

I am sure I am a member at the Maleware Tips but the rest of the rules are a bit too much for me so I will pass.

    Thanks anyway.

THE what is it exactly you think Heidmal is doing with 127? That causes Zemana to flag it?

They install their own DNS server I think that filters all traffic through Heimdal. I am not 100% sure, but I think this is the cause. We could resolve this very easily, but that wouldn't be a good solution. That's why we're trying to contact Heimdal about this.

They do indeed filter traffic through their own 'SecureDNS' if that option is selected. I excluded the scan 'DNS Hijack' message.

But I spoke too soon in #1964 #1965 - even after uninstalling ZAM I still have issues with Heimdal, so I don't think incompatibility with ZAM is the culprit after all.

It is not leak, but normal behavior. On machines with more ram memory, more of it will be used for faster scanning. On machines with low amount of ram memory, less will be used.
