indeed i am using very specific type of programs that needs a bit of knowledge of the OS and its functionment; not something impossible to achieve but it takes some time.

for non-techies, a would suggest a simple AV with some anti-exploits/ransomware abilities; Emsisoft or Webroot are quite easy to use and require few interaction.

the help file is quite clear to me , but i guess it depends of the reader's computing knowledge.

To be simple, ReHIPS allow you to sandbox or block applications via windows own mechanisms.

They do, we, beta-testers, have requested a list of usability improvements; some were made since last build. The Dev team is quite open for them, and want ReHIPS to be user-friendly.

I hope it's not rude to chime in, but SUA is a Standard User Account.

Encrypting connections and of course, if you choose a resolver that provides it...DNSSEC and no logging.

DNSSEC is that extra layer on top of encryption, that authenticates and verifies each website, in turn preventing DNS Spoofing from ever happening. DNSSEC also protects against attacks that may occur over SSL & HTTPS connections.

As for choosing a resolver that provides no logging, that just means that your DNS resolver won't log any of your DNS traffic, as your ISP would normally do.

A combination of both encryption and DNSSEC, make for a much more secure and private connection.

Avira free and Zemana AntiMalware are so light that they work fine in real time mode in my setup. Though it's strongly advisable not to use 2 antiviruses in real time.

HIPS-wise I'd say the same level, but all the other features packed in spyshelter make it much more useful and friendly. Also spyshelter is much lighter on system resources
