Cool, thank you for reporting this... Obviously VS prompted because the file is unknown to the blacklist scan... maybe if VoodooAi is like less than 0.25, maybe we can auto allow the item? Does that sound about right? Actually, at the very least, we need to change the recommendation ;). This is a good example of what we need to fine tune and tweak with VoodooAi.

Cool... please send it to support@voodooshield.com! From your description, the log should have some very, very useful info for me that should be super easy to fix.

Thank you, I appreciate that! Yeah, at some point we do need to translate VS to a lot of different languages, hopefully sooner than later.

@VoodooShield, I don't understand what to do with these files..are they false positives? Do I block? Sandbox? I am still learning..Please advise.

Thanks Dan, I guess this answers my questions about the VoodooAi sensitivity .....

If you are installing software from NVIDIA then it's a false positive.

Yeah, like mood was saying, they are false positives (thank you mood). I somehow forgot to included drivers in the training data sets when I trained the machine learning models, so VoodooAi is temporarily not great analyzing drivers, but I will be sure to include them when we retrain the models. Sorry about that, thank you!

Thank you! That's what I needed to know. Greatly appreciate the assistance @mood and Dan!!:thumb:

I wasn't installing any drivers though..I guess the NVIDIA was updating!

Sure, thank you! I think since most of the bugs are worked out, I should have time to retrain the models this weekend... I am excited to see how much better they do, now that we have some truly random samples to work with. We will see how it goes, and I will let everyone know. Have a great weekend!

I have been getting these ones for quite awhile but always forgot to report! NVIDIA Backend.

When trying to access VoodooShield Setting from the tray icon VoodooShield freezes and the menu stays on the screen, but I can't do anything with it.
The only thing I can do is close VoodooShield from the task manager.

I would uninstall VS, then delete the contents of the \programdata\VoodooShield folder, and then undertake a clean reinstall of VS...and see if that resolves the issue for you. Note that I believe that as a result you will need to reenter your registration details so make sure that you have them to hand.

Thank Baldrick, but I have done that already before installing version 3.18.
When I re enable VoodooShield after I closed it through the task manager the problem is resolved.
I had this happening 2 times now, maybe it is something in my config.

Join the club! That's what I been putting up with for months. In the end I've uninstalled until there is a real fix.

Thanks for Dan I hope it is an elite club... I see you also run Windows 10 x64. Did you also use VoodooShield in autopilot mode or another mode?

No Mate. I was using Smart Mode and found that almost every time I was prompted by VS it froze just as you described not long after.

Thanks @Baldrick and @Krusty13 will see if and under what conditions the freezing of VoodooShield reappears.

    Hi Dan,
Managed to catch up and install VS 3.18 Beta.
I read about the freezing issues if 3.18 is installed over the top without first deleting the VS data files, but did it anyway, and happily it went very smoothly, then reset the whitelist.
Finally, I tried out a few of my portable apps (such as 'Never10') which VoodooAI blocked probably because it's an unsigned file, also the RCC check (Root cert check) which VoodooAI also flagged up as very suspicious - I reported about 6 such apps as False positives.
Other than that it's running very smoothly in Smart mode - no freezing as reported by Gandalf, so possibly a Win 10 bug ?

    VoodooShield,

Do you think a Trusted/Whitelisted Vendor List in VS would be good? I mean a good & tight list with Vendors of the software/driver, etc that are there on majority system.

My VS freezes up as well, I'm running windows 10 pro X64, with VS in Auto Pilot mode. However in my case, voodoo shield has to be running for a while for it to eventually happen. I can bring up the menu to switch to allow install, and back and forth, eventually after running or having PC on for hours, VS will freeze up.

Don't recall if I mentioned, I'm in Win 10 Pro 64 bit, running VS 3.18 in Smart mode, with Sophos Home free and Sandboxie, latest Firefox browser. I upgraded rather than did a clean install and always reboot after whether needed or not. No problems here. Other than the mentioned security, nothing else. I do have Kerish Dr and it does fixes automatically. I can't believe that makes a difference though.

I will catch up soon, but real quick... If anyone is having the freezing issue, please post as much information you can about the issue. I have 2 machines (8.1 and 10) running VS constantly (at least 2 machines), and I used to experience the freeze issue until VS 3.17... actually it has been around for a couple of months now. For me, it would take a day or two for the issue to appear, but basically when I would right click on the desktop shield gadget, VS would freeze. I noticed that if I tried to execute a non-whitelisted item after VS froze, it would prompt me and then unfreeze / correct itself. But for the last 7 days, I have not experienced this issue. The problem is that nothing is being logged, and there are no errors displayed on the screen, so it is very difficult to pinpoint what is causing this issue.

So if anyone experiences this issue, please give me as much information possible so we can track this bug down. As far as I know, it is the only remaining bug, and the only thing from preventing us from releasing VS 3.0 to the public. Thank you!

None here Dan on two Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise x64 systems, VS never freezes for me at any time. *puppy* Also on every new Beta I install over top and then stop both of VS's processes then delete everything in ProgramData and remove the PC from the VS online account then restart VS so basally it's a clean install and have to re-registered and set all of my personal settings but no big deal.
