AFAIK, all "on-execution scan" AV's works in the same manner.

    Thanks HiltiHome for your comments.

You know we used to have this feature in the early versions of ZAM but it higly increased the scanning time and did no good in terms of protection. This was the reason we opted it out. Protecting our customers is our first priority for the moment and we are currently developing new features which will higly increase the level of protection. We will announce them soon. For archive files, yes you are right, they would have been scanned in full scan but this will come with its drawbacks :(

    +1

    You are right.

Actually I am a bit confused.. The last 2 files with strange names do not mean anything to me. Can you please send them to dev@zemana.com so we can inspect what they are.

    Hello Tarnak,

We have analyzed the files and used the tool we have seen in the screenshot but we were not able to reproduce the issue. Could you please trace the files with Process Monitor and make sure they are created by ZAM? If we were able to reproduce the issue, we would do it but can't :(

I am sorry, but I think that I made an incorrect assumption that these files were linked with your program... I couldn't get Process Monitor to run properly. I monitored the System 32 folder while running ZAM poratble instead, to see if appeared. It seems this files appear at reboot, but have nothing to do with ZAM. So, it is a mystery as to what program on my system is associated with their appearance. I apologize for any inconvenience that I may have caused.

is it possible to have a persistent cache for verified clean files on real time scanner?

the first run of an executable is slow after first boot, very slow. But after that its lightning fast which is I assume because its cached, but the cache is gone after a reboot.

I have the pandora extra protection enabled.

Yesterday, something cleared all my settings in ZAM (exclusions, schedule, etc. back to defaults).
Noticed this straight after an update to HMP.A Build 370 RC, but wonder how that could be related ...
Also ZAM memory usage climbs over time, and is second highest after Firefox, and is currently at 500MB.
Other than conflict with other security softs, any explanation for these issues? Should I re-install?
    Win 8.1 x64. ZAM 2.20.2.613.

I have the same issue with ZAM Premium on Windows XP. ZAM's working set memory usage climbs about 12K to 15K every minute or so. Bummers. I hope there's a fix soon -- I like ZAM a lot, otherwise.

    Addendum:
I rebooted. ZAM began with 50188K working set memory. 4 hours later, working set memory usage is now 307596K. Virtual size is also growing. HELP!!!

I used the beta key on the normal download link on this machine, will it beta updates or does it have to have the beta installer used? Also I notice the beta version is older than the one no the main download page.

When I ran a deep scan on this machine it raised a fair few false positives, the ones that really stood out were custom shortcuts I made, so e.g. a quick launch icon for IE using the -nomerge flag is raised, and also the shortcut I have to chrome which launches chrome via batch file is also raised. I think it would be good to add an option so suspicious objects are not raised.

    x.x.1.x are beta versions.
    x.x.2.x are stable versions.

It's confusing but you'll get used to this...

Can someone post a direct link for the download of the beta portable?
I have had difficulty finding this even though I did register as a beta tester some time back.

2.20.1.905 is the latest beta version and 2.20.2.613 is the latest stable version.

    x.xx.1.xxx = Beta
    x.xx.2.xxx = Stable

ok usually I would expect a beta to have a higher version number ;)

It feels wrong using a beta key on the stable version so will put the beta on my desktop today.
Already got the beta on my win10 testing machine and laptop also.

I have also been spreading the word about zemana on a few forums as I think its nice software with a good balance between free and premium versions.

    --edit--

looks like the beta register page has been took offline, so looking for a link to download the beta installer now.

ok am on 2.20.1.905 now, used the installer from my laptop.

Question does anyone know the best way to move a license from one machine to another? As I have a lifetime license on my win10 machine I want to move to this desktop and then move this beta license to my win10 machine.

@ anon -- Got it! Thanks! ZAM updates soooo smoothly.

(I wonder if they fixed the memory leak?)

P.S. I'm running the Premium version which I did NOT get for free. IMO, the license price for 2 years is very reasonable for a program of this quality and support.
