I use admuncher alongside with privacy badger, admuncher is free nowadays. The downside is that it can not, like the others easily block elements on a page, on the other hand admuncher doesnt miss that many anyway.
Based on the result of this poll I decided to give ublock origin a try. Wow! MUCH faster and lighter than Adblock Plus. I hope they release a version for Edge when it is officially updated to support extensions. On Firefox and Chrome it is fantastic.

I use Slimjet browser which has an adblocker built in. The lists I use in it are -- EasyList, EasyPrivacy, and Fanboy's Annoyances.
I can not decide between Adguard DNS and Adguard extension. Adguard DNS is the obvious choice, but aside from small annoyances like displaying unloaded webpages and inability to block EU warnings, it can not be customized and I do not want to block all ADs, not just to support webpages, but sometimes they display interesting things, so I keep switching between those 2.
Adguard should block all request to ATS servers. Adguard DNS is an external solution at acts later than adguard with ats list. https://adguard.com/en/adguard-dns/overview.html optional might symantec dns server (3 types possible) thats why i prefer my personal HOSTS file in Windows which eliminates access before ublock will block it. all external dns servers will rely on such hosts list, maybe a combination of 3 or more lists. i remember Adguard as a fixed solution with less or poor opt-out like adblock or ublock.

I know your post was some time ago but looking at the AdMuncher forum there's a few request for filter help from Dec 2016 unanswered, I think its truly dead in the water now. Edit, in fact there's been no activity on the forum since dec 2016.
ublock0 with dynamic filtering for firefox; ublock0 3rd party filters and my filters only, along with noScript for palemoon.
