    Hi grjoe49, and welcome to Wilders.

    Is this happening after you run a spyware removal program? What could be happening, is the other program you are scanning with is detecting one of the entries in SpywareBlaster's protection. But it would help if you gave us more information on what other spyware removal programs you are using.

    I will move this thread over into the SpywareBlaster forum.

    Regards,

    I SpywareBlaster I set it to enable all the listed items. Later I gets pop-ups and I check an d the xxxtoolbar is disabled. I have been using Xoftspy, Spybot, Lava's Ad-aware, CWShredder, HSRemove, and Stinger. Of course I have an active virus program - Norton Antivirus. The Norton program also has been attacked, something keeps changin the auto-protect to disable. I have also done the online line check with Trend Micro.

    Hi grjoe49,

    In case you didn't know, Xoftspy is on the Rogue/suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites list. It has many false/positives and they use those to trick you into purchasing their program. I would definitely recommend uninstalling XoftSpy, and using the other known, trusted (and free) spyware removal programs that you've mentioned in your post. Make sure you are using the most recent versions of them and that you have brought them up-todate:

    Ad=Aware SE Personal
    Spybot Search&Destroy.

    You didn't say if one of your spyware removal programs was alerting you that you had the xxxtoolbar. If it is Xoftspy that is saying you have xxxtoolbar, then it is more than likely that it is falsely identifying SpywareBlaster's entry for it. Then when you have Xoftspy remove the entry, you are in fact removing SpywareBlaster's protection for the xxxtoolbar, and that is why it is showing up in SpywareBlasters Block list as un-checked.

    You also mentioned that you have done an on-line scan (which is good) but didn't tell us if anything was detected from it? :doubt: I am not sure why your Norton's auto-protect is being disabled, so you may still want to follow Blackspear's advice and post a HijackThis log at one of the sites in the link Blackspear has posted above, that still do HijackThis log analysis (please note that we no longer do HijackThis log analysis here at Wilders).
