Yes. You are referring to main Active Events log. Plus, NVT ERP can save plain-text logs.

AG does have log in real-time. It shows in Activity Report.

 

That's not exactly what i meant...

Do you see this kind of information in the Activity Report after you started Firefox? I don't think so.
VS provides "some information" in the User Log, but ERP provides the most information.
I hope it's now more understandable

If i switch with Alt+Tab through my programs, i always see the Voodooshield-Icon in the list.
I have chosen to hide the desktop icon, is it somehow possible to hide it from the program list (Alt+Tab), too?

I'm having an issue with VoodooShield where it keeps telling me that's its unable to connect to the voodooshield service? Any clues what to do as I have uninstalled and re-installed 3 times

On "Advanced Settings" are entries, that are blacklisted. Powershell, Java, Rundll32, ...
If i want to change the time or date, VS is blocking it.
That's fine, so i put "C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe" Shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\Windows\system32\timedate.cpl",
on the list of command-lines. Now it's allowed.
Good, now i do the same with Java, regedit and CMD:

I want to start the program TV-Browser. It's blocked, because it's starting Java.
But even if i put *java.exe* and *javaw.exe* on the list of Command-Lines, VS blocks TV-Browser
The same for regedit.exe and cmd.exe.

Rundll32 is running fine if it's whitelisted on "Command-Lines", but not the other entries on "Advanced Settings" (regedit,cmd,java...)

 

I have had this problem several times. If a reboot doesn't fix it try deleting C:\ProgramData\VoodooShield and then re-installing VS.

Suggestion / Feature:
Add an option to whitelist specific executables / whitelist a complete directory (with or without subfolders) of executables
(No, Custom folders is a different thing...)

Example:
"Whitelist - Browse ...":

• a file is selected and VS adds this file to the whitelist
• a directory is selected, now VS scans (only this) directory and adds all executables to the whitelist
• a directory (with the option: subfolders) is selected, VS scans this directory with all subfolders and adds all executables to the whitelist

That has the big advantage that zero training-time is needed after scanning of Program Files + the Windows-Directory.
Only after installing new programs or doing windows-updates.

 

Just a quick update... everything is going extremely well, and I think I am getting close.

The new version should be ready before the weekend, unless something goes wrong... but worst case scenario would be about 5-6 days I believe. If that changes, I will let you know.

Part of the reason it is taking so long is that the User Prompt / Mini Prompt code has not been updated for a very long time... it is the one part that Vlad never had a chance to work on much because he was busy working on other parts of the code. But it is all cleaned up now and will be extremely easy to tweak and maintain. For example, if one of you guys see that a certain button is not showing or something, all you have to do is tell me what file VS blocked, and I will have it fixed in 1-2 minutes. The thing is, I had to make A LOT of changes to the user prompt... it is basically all new code, so I want to make sure everything is right before I release it. It would be nice for a change for you guys to not have to report bugs, and just enjoy the software .

It looks like Virustotal may have had a change of policy as SecureAPlus seem to be listing the scan engines - unless they are doing so without permission.

On my one PC, the VS icon shield on the lower right hand bottom side is not turning blue saying ON usb.
When, I insert my usb/flash drive stick. My question is how do, I turn this back on? And/or how do,
I fix this small problem?

Also, I am still having the same problem with VS not working with Slimjet Browser, when,
I open this browser up? Suggestions/Opinions?

I use slimjet browser and added it to the web apps manually. VS toggles to blue when I open the browser without any issues.

Added VoodooShield Pro to my arsenal.
Minor problem is: "Hide the desktop shield when another program is full screen" is checked, but when running O&O Defrag in a normal window size the shield will disappear. VS seems to think it is in "full screen" mode.

 

That's good to hear.
Regarding your other problem of VS not toggling to on when you insert a USB - in Basic settings (next to the bottom) is the 'Activate in smart mode when USB is inserted' ticked ?

Was your computer idle before you inserted your usb/flash drive?
If you have this option checked:
[X] Automatically deactivate after (10) minutes of system idle
, VS deactivates itself and after that VS doesn't notice an usb/flash drive.

 

If yes, it is a known bug and should be fixed soon, maybe in the next release.

Dan, this just happened again. I think I see this most often after I see the flashing prompt to allow a command line while a web application is open. Once the command line is allowed and the web application closed VS has become unresponsive. I don't know if VS is still working at this point or not, but if not it is a serious bug in need of a fix.

Hi there.

I'm having a bit of trouble with VoodooShield. After installing it (v3.09 on Windows 7), it doesn't seem to be working. I turned it to "always on"... In fact, I tried every mode, but none are working (I know this because I downloaded some programs and tried to install them and no alerts from VoodooShield). I chose to show the icon and whether it's ON or OFF, it's doing the same thing: looking as if it's scanning or loading or something along those lines. Below ON and OFF, there is a bar that keeps on moving. It's been doing this for about an hour and a half now.

Any ideas?
