I've used Paragon backup utilities since 2009. I'm currently using Paragon Backup 2011 on my Toshiba Tecra 940 laptop - Core i3 - 500 GB HD - 4 GB ram running Windows 7 Home, 64bit. The hard drive has approx 100 GB of misc files that I need to back up. I'm backing everything (not incremental) up to an external hard drive with plenty of free storage.
    I've noticed the following....
Case 1 - When using Start > All Programs > Paragon System BackUp 11 > Paragon System Backup , the backup takes about 1 1/2 hrs.
Case 2 - When using Start > All Programs > Paragon System BackUp 11 > Advanced > Backup Wizard. The same back up takes 8 hrs. Size of the resulting backup file from Case 2 is about 10% larger than that from Case 1. In either case I'm asking for all files/partitions on my 'C' drive to be backed up.
I would think that both should produce about the same size file and take about the same length of time. I've varied the order of doing the backups which doesn't seem to make a difference. Can someone explain why there is such a large difference between the two.
