Isn't it possible to completely remove this sidebar from outlook.com using ublock?

    http://i.imgur.com/jEWPoLl.png

I can block the ads from there but the sidebar remains.

    1.6.8 uBlock Origin Released
    Changes:
From now on, uBlock Origin will pull assets (filter lists, scriptlets) from a project dedicated strictly for the purpose of maintaining those resources: uBlockOrigin/uAssets. Notice that this project is owned by uBlockOrigin, an organization I created to maintain all things related to uBlock Origin, uMatrix. For now uAssets is the first project to be held under that organization.

The goal of uBlockOrigin/uAssets is to receive all the reports for the need of new filters, or reports of web pages broken by existing filters, and will be open for people to contribute (i.e. given write permissions on the project). Ideally I wish there will be eventually a small army of volunteers dedicated to deal with filter issues.

    1.6.9 Released also
    Closed as fixed:
A "no-popups: * true" rule will block new tabs opened from "chrome://extensions/"

I'm not sure if this was already discussed but is there any plans for a future Edge version for this extension?

Is this the only file in firefox portable that I need to allow in sbie so ubo can update?

Are all 3 of these needed to ensure direct access for ubo in a sandboxed chrome?

:D....rookieman, you can create a new Firefox profile. If I was you and the addon is important, that's what I would do. Quicker than trying to remember what cant remember.

I don't change many preferences in about:config. I change about 10 and write them down in a text file. And do exactly the same in my 2 computers. So, sometimes when I do a clean install of Firefox, I have both computers open next to each other and compare about:config. I only use a few addons so creating a new profile and getting it going is done quickly. Use the text file for next time.

    1. Load about:config in the browser's address bar.
    2. Confirm you will be careful if the prompt appears.
    3. Search for xpinstall.signatures.required.
    4. Double-click the preference to set it to false.

uBlock Origin is signed on AMO -- all extensions on AMO are signed, no exceptions -- so this should not be necessary.

Is there a simple way to find which one of My Filters tab is already used by another list? I'm curious because today it shows My filters‎: 88 used out of 89. Thanks in advance.

I normally use FF but your posting got me curious so I installed Chrome and played around with it in Sandboxie. Of the 3 above this one OpenFilePath=chrome.exe,%Local AppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Extension Settings\cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm\ is the only extension needed in Direct Access in Sandboxie to work with uBlock0 in Chrome. I tried it and it works for me. P.S. the jury is still out if I'll keep Chrome or use both FF and Chrome at various times.

Edit Apr. 21/16 The jury is in, I will stick with FF since I use Sandboxie. If I didn't use Sandboxie I would probably go with Chrome and uBlockO works well with both FF and Chrome in Sandboxie or not.

Has Google updated their ads somehow to bypass Ublock? Anyone else noticing that Ublock is not blocking the yellow "ad" labeled links that pop up in a search? I've never noticed this before and have been using Ublock since the very beginning and they never appeared, then all of a sudden, they are back as if no blocker is in place whatsoever.

No, I don't get those links and I'm using uBlock Origin. Did you check which filters you have enabled and if they are updated?

Updated them all and decided to turn a few that I usually don't have on, on just to see, but they still remain. not sure what the deal is like I said, I never had them before until I updated chrome and ublock recently

    Origin.
I typed in windows 10 and this is what showed up. I used to search for windows news pretty regularly over the past year or so and never saw this. I have the media elements, cosmetic filtering and remote fonts options activated within the quick menu as well as the 3rd party options as seen below. (Note: I usually do not have Ublock experimental or easylist ticked as I usually have the fanboy+easylist ultimate instead, but decided to tick them all to test)

    Element picker
The element picker has been beefed-up:

    • It will now offer as filter choice background images, if any. (#1202)
    • When you click on an element on the page, it will report all elements found under the mouse.
      • Previously, the picker would report filters only for the element clicked and its ancestors.
    • Filters for media elements will now be offered, if any. (#1545)
    • You can now preview the effect of the selected filter on the page. (#650)

I'm starting to see a lot of banners telling me to turn off my adblocker. I know the next step for them is to kill content if an adblocker is running.

Finally realized what my error was with the ads appearing on google and such; I had disable cosmetic filtering ticked in the options, which seemed to go right over my head. One click and all is back to normal :thumb:
