What other Anti Virus was on your system PRIOR to Nod32?

    Have you tried the following:

    Uninstall Nod32

Remove the Eset Folder from C> Program Files.

Clean the registry of the last remaining Eset file.

    Reinstall Nod32.

Let us know how you go…

    Cheers :D

    Hello Blackspear,
    Did everything as proposed:no help
There are no ESET/NOD32-files left over on my PC before trying to install
    the downloaded new version.
Troubles started after renewal of my licence and after introdung my new
username/pw in the running version 2.00.9
Decided to uninstall that one since it would not update anymore and deleted
all related files in the Registry.
If you have an idea, plse let me know!
Replaced Nod32 for the time beeing by F-Prot AV,running nicely.

Are you installing as a Administrator, or trying to install using a Guest account?

I'll see what I can find out, in the mean time, can you send an email to support@nod32.com and place a link to this thread. If you do not hear from Eset within 3 days (allows for weekends), please advise us here...

Let us know how you go…

    Cheers :D

Wel,meanwhile,I found a solution to the problem!
    First trial:copied install file to an SD card and tried install on a PC not in use;
since it worked,I supposed that there should be a way around on my newer PC.Opened REGRUN and disabled different progs such as Process Guard and
    EZshield Protector and... install worked.
Thank you very much,Blackspear and sorry for the trouble!
    Kindest regards.

Good to see that you had a result, so it ended up being a registry protection program that was causing the problem ;)

    Thanks for keeping us informed...

    Cheers :D

OK,Blackspear, but still surprised that "Support" could not inform me where
to look for that Nod32 error message;but, luckily,I never give up using
    the saying : NIL DESPERANDUM.
Other remark conc Nod32/TDS-3:after installing temporarily F-Prot,I was sur-
prised that it found at first run the trojan BAT/FORMATC;so in the future
I will have to use some other AV-progs from time to time not to fall asleep,
thinking that Nod32/TDS-3 are the "nec plus ultra"!

It never hurts to get a second opinion using any antivirus program. That has been my experience over the years.
Maybe a third opinion when malware is found, just to be safe.

    Hi,
please run ...\progr. files\eset\install\setup.exe with the /test parameter and send the log nsetup.log to support@nod32.com for analysis.

So to do this the person would do the following

    Start
    Run

    then click on:
    Browse

    Go to:

    Eset folder
    Install folder
    Setup.exe

then add (space) /test as in the following:

    "C:\Program Files\Eset\Install\setup.exe" /test

...exactly as shown, including the speech marks.

The 'nsetup' log file will be created in the Install folder within Eset's folder in Program
    Files.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D

PS. thanks Mr Coot for clearing this up ;) :D
