I was in the Virtual Desktop, then I tried to get out of it but it wouldn't recognize my password (which was correct). Since I couldn't get out of it, I had to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and log in with the Admin account, and then terminated virtkiosk.exe. Now I can't Reset the Sandbox, neither enter the Virtual desktop. The "Resetting the Sandbox" window is running for several minutes, and whenever I try to go to the Virtual Desktop only the process "virtkiosk.exe" that's it. What could be happening and how can I fix this? There must be a folder somewhere that COMODO uses for it's virtual desktop, I just can't find it. Maybe if I delete it everything will get back to normal.
People have always complained about Comodo bugs: ~300 bug fixes!~ Only one I've consistently encountered, and that is with the virtual kiosk. The normal sandbox works fine with or without hypervisor abilities. I'd use that to protect the host and then use a refreshed sandbox to be secure a la sandboxie. The kiosk, hwoever, hardly ever even boots for me, showing the splash and then a crash. I figure it is difficult creating an "inverse sandbox" and otherwise risky going to an, essentially, roughly fabricated UAC desktop/ghetto-VM where rights are severely crippled. Cool idea but hard to implement. Endgame... I wouldn't trust or rely on such a "kiosk", too buggy almost by design. Stick to normal sandboxes and VMs or your hardened Linux gear for things that would require such security. An infected host is toast IMO.
