If I ping nod32.com host is not found. Pinging 195.12.128.61 works fine. So it is a DNS -problem

I'd be curious to know what you mean by "gremlins". Hackers? Viruses? I sure can't think of a much faster way to lose customers. This situation with the web site/servers whatever, given there is no way at present for me to update nod32 has really given me pause as to whether Eset is still up to the job. I just downloaded the commercial version and it's only current through 8/28/04. For as big of a fan I am of nod32, this just doesn' cut it. Don't they have backups or something?

    One man's opinion.

As most everyone else has no problem whatsoever updating using the automatic updater, couldn't that problem conceivably be at your end??

Well, it was never down for me. :D But server U2a is another story.

So is the address change permanent?

Well if that is true then why do I have absolutely no problems reaching www.nod32.com? I haven't had any problems since this started. My problem is with server U2a. Huge amounts of packet loss at two hops to that server for a long time. One hop with the packet loss is Level 3! But no problems with NOD32.com.

Maybe you're seeing a cached version of the site?

    Just a thought...

LOL...Yeah it Java for sure that getting me to www.nod32.com. :D

I am seeing 30% packet loss at the Washington,D.C. hop which is also a Level3 backbone hop. Level 3 is having problems. I'm seeing Level 3 problems in LA and other areas too. That same Washington D.C. hop for eset.com is only showing 9% packet loss.

I´d rather say in a very very very diplomatic tone that dear EUROWEB (which handles this kind of stuff for ESET) ****ed it all up... And my comment was very very diplomatic......

Yes, the Gremlins can take over the Nod32.com Url....... haha

no, i don t understand that exactly with the expire date and what REDEMPTIONPERIOD exactly mean. But it sounds horrible to me.

    oh, boy can anybody explain?

  23. NOD32.COM domain is EXPIRED due to payment issues.

The strange thing is that this domain should be paid before 30-jul-2004 and this didn't happen!

For what it's worth, on the page referenced above, one finds the following statement (bold added by me):
    [font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
I'm not sure how to go about "consulting the sponsoring registrar's database" if it is not the one at internic.net; what I've thought to try thus far just repeats this same information.

Edit: However, a search at idregister reveals that nod32.com is "Not Available" (presumably it is considered to be in use already): https://www.idregister.org/servlets/registerDomains
