just curious, to any of you change the default 60 minute set time for malware scanning. Or do any of you even deactivate it, thanks
Installed version 2.0.30 today after having made a fresh install of W10 couple of weeks ago. Now Heimdal only lists 21 programs it patches, i seem to remember the first version of V2 the patch list was in the 30/40's and crusially it now does not update Java! Anyone seeing the same and perhaps knows what is going on?
Hi Andra, I just tried the above website (after flushing the DNS) with Heimdal Pro version 1, on both a Vista and a Windows 7 system. The new test website was not blocked on either computer, I got the "you are not protected" message. Curiously, as I reported above, the euromovements.info site DID seem to get blocked by Heimdal Pro v1 on both Windows 7 and Vista. (In each case, the server connection timed out.)
I can confirm this here with v2 on a Win 7 system. Because of this and other issues I have uninstalled Heimdal Pro until this ongoing beta becomes more useful and stable.
Java will be added back to the list in the next 2 weeks. There have been some technical details to sort out with it. And more software will be added to the list soon. The list is a bit dynamic, as patching is quite the challenge (which we gladly take on every day ). I hope this helps.
Do you have ipv6 checked? (Please uncheck it if so.) Do you have the traffic filtering engine turned on? (I know it sounds silly, but I have to ask.) Thanks!
Sorry you feel this way. We're always going to improve the product one way or another, and there are always going to be challenges. Software is never perfect, but we certainly do our best to make it work for everyone, so you can feel protected and keep your data safe. In my personal opinion, I think that not everyone chooses to be so transparent about their activity, but that doesn't mean that issues are nonexistent. Thank you for your patience and support! We always appreciate them.
Hi Andra, I'm on version 1.10.5.0 (and Heimdal Pro tells me it's up to date itself). I don't think I have those two controls you mention (ipv6 and traffic filtering). Thank you for the good and difficult work you do here.
Well, that was odd... On Windows 10 x64, my first couple of attempts at entering the website: http://notblockedbyheimdalsecurity.com/ resulted in Not blocked Did a DNS flush, as per suggested, and still it wasn't blocked. Tried rebooting, that didn't worked. Decided to disable then enable the traffic scanning modules and also use CCleaner, and apparently that did the trick. So either Ccleaner fixed it or disabling then later enabling traffic scanning did.
I get that I am not protected message. Even tried rebooting and same results. I am having same problem as https://www.wilderssecurity.com/members/kaptainbug.138833/ MAybe I will have to reinstall my crapcleaner paid version and see if it helps
Now to find out which CCleaner option(s) did the trick. Maybe browser cache and cookie cleaning is needed over and above flushing DNS cache.
I ran CCleaner as others have done. Still getting the "not protected" message on v1. Maybe that test website only works on v2?
I wish I could help you, but I think you'll have to contact my colleagues at support@heimdalsecurity.com for an in-depth look. Thank you being so patient and understanding about this!
Sorry I forgot to ask my colleagues before posting, but http://notblockedbyheimdalsecurity.com/ only works for V2. Since we are migrating all V1 users incrementally, everything we build will now be built for Heimdal PRO v2.
I couldn't tell what worked here without my colleagues checking the situation, but I'm very glad it works now. Thank you for letting me know!
I only ran CrapCleaner with default options and the site was blocked after doing so. Here is the IE list default for CC Temp Internet files History Cookies Recent typed URLs Index. dat files Last download location Windows Explorer list: Recent Docs Run menu Other explorer MRUs Thumbnail cache Taskbar jump list
Interesting results. I wanted to test something in Win 10x64 as a clean install so I did the clean install in a VM, with no security software at all. Went to the site and lo and behold Heimdal Pro on the host popped up and blocked it. This is good stuff.
Good for you peter, you are one and the few. But of course a fresh in stall will block it. That proves nothing.
