I'm not quite sure that I understand. In my understanding blocking, e.g., specific scripts, images etc. is done by URL filtering in the logger. By doing this you block the respective network requests. Available in the logger (by clicking the </> button) is the DOM inspector. gorhill writes:

Hence, in the DOM inspector you can, e.g., hide specific images but not block them(!), and you cannot block scripts, either.

But perhaps I'm misunderstanding you. You're saying that the DOM inspector helps to determine which script is showing ads - perhaps, but so far I haven't figured that out. If it's possible I would appreciate some instructions how to do it. And in any case, blocking that script in the inspector would still be impossible, it would have to be done in URL filtering. Again, that's how I understand it. I might be missing your point.

    uBo 1.6.0b6 on Iceweasel 43.0.4

In the settings pane in the dashboard, I don't have the abilility to specify the threshold size of the large media to block. I have :

Block media elements larger than {input:number} Ko

and no way to set the input number.

    What am I missing ?

Installing uBo 1.6.0b7 solved my problem, the threshold size is now configurable :
Bloquer les éléments médias d'une taille supérieure à {50} Ko

Yes! My understanding was the same. It is used to work with the cosmetic filters, and not the network filters.
And the good use of it is to create exception cosmetic filters...

uBlock0 dynamic filtering in Firefox. How do you get rid of these side popup ads at this site. https://ca.games.yahoo.com/game/daily-crosswords.html I've used element picker which deletes the ads but upon returning to the same sites the ads keep returning. As an experiment I went back to the same page with noScript installed and the same ads do not appear initially nor do they reappear. Any setting to use to rid them completely in uBlock0 ?

you need to block a specific script using
    yahoo.com##script:contains(foo)
but that is only possible to determine with firefox and the inspector.
anyhow i cant make crosswords working in opera or firefox - white field, no content - only a html5 ad video in opera without uBlock.

Flash has to be activated to use the crossword puzzle. Forgot to mention that. My bad.

I use the element picker and selected the broadest suggest cosmetic filter which included the whole right section and it works fine:
    ca.games.yahoo.com###EndRail

If the ads come back, you have to find out why -- there must be a setting on your side -- not part of default ones -- which causes this:

Did the same here. When I also activated cosmetic filter, the whole page goes blank, the ads and the puzzle are gone. If I block cosmetic filter the ads return. Only way on this page at least, if I run noScript along with 3rd party filters plus ublock element picker and activate cosmetic filter also, the ads do not return. Anyway, this seems to happen on this site only and it's not really a big deal. Thanks for the help.

EDIT UPDATE: Uninstalled noScript and finally got it to work with uBlock0 dynamic filtering only. Instead of ###EndRail, picked ###Playright-Rail and activated cosmetic filters (10) and no more ads reappearing. Happy camper here.

Does anyone have trouble with Ads on this page? Mainly the top one.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/

Plus, when I block Ads, the rules don't save after I refresh the page. ABP doesn't give me these troubles.

after installing 1.5.5 two "noop" rules appeared under my rules tab.
    • behind-the-scene * 3p noop
    • behind-the-scene * 3p-frame noop
what do these two do and should i keep them or remove them?

I see no ad at the top of Daily Mail, using default settings with up to date filter lists.
It's a pointless statement, you do not provide any specific case which other people can try to reproduce. uBO works just as fine as ABP, so surely there is something on your side causing an issue -- but we can't help, since we can't try for ourselves.

Here is an example of substantiating a statement. Chromium/uBO blocks ads on http://www.speedtest.net/ just fine, using default settings. Chromium/ABP can't. Notice I provided a URL so anyone can see for themselves.

Without knowing exactly your settings (filter lists, settings, rules, etc.), it's hard to help.

I don't need a lesson on providing evidence.
I already posted the URL in case you missed it.
Because the ads are so big, you need to browse a news article for awhile until they load.

I'm using uBo. I clicked on the Daily Mail link you gave. I don't see the ads you're talking about, unless maybe you're confusing what appears to me to be some celebrity article with lots of pictures an ad. So I think it's reasonable to ask you for more info.
