Please offer Security Software/Configuration suggestions for Windows 7 Pro 32 bit PC's when you are forced to use a several year old version of Sun Java Runtime 32 bit (version 6 or 7). Any Security Software would have to be very user friendly, thus requiring very little decision making. The hardware which is being accessed has out-of-date firmware which would require a massive amount of work to upgrade the firmware. The firmware would have to be updated every time there is a new release of Sun Java Runtime, which is not feasible. Thank in Advance.
Silly question. Do you need Java? I thought I did W7P64. Uninstalled it 6mos ago, haven't needed it yet.
I don't currently have Java installed, but I do have need of it from time to time for specific things (but not that often). If your need is not all that frequent, you could do what I do... I put my system in 'Shadow' Mode with Shadow Defender -- install Java -- do what I need to do with Java installed -- then reboot and Java is no more.
Assuming it's used in a browser, Sandboxie and or Appguard are the best, but it's going to take a bit of setting up. If they aren't willing to do a bit of learning, so be it.
