For the last few weeks I keep getting this message in a drop down that says..... Bring your bookmarks and passwords with you. Firefox is now on ios and android. How can I stop this, its really annoying.
It appears near the top of the firefoxbrowser. Started about 4 weeks ago. Not every day, just about once every 7 days then its consistent all that day. I was thinking it could be malware?
sounds like it is. do you have a screenshot of it? and where exactly does it appear? within a component of firefox layout or just pops outta nowhere?
It drops down under the bookmarks bar. There is an option to close it, but it reappears after the browser opens. No ads, everything seems fine. Nothing showing in any virus/malware checks. everything clean. Is it coming from Mozilla?
Someone also mentioned it here http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f48/any-firefox-users-getting-popups-under-favorite-bar-3105339/
This sounds like Mozilla's way of letting you know about Sync. If you setup an account for sync it will likely stop annoying you, even if you never use the sync service.
I also think its Firefox as it only happens around every 7 days. It just seems like a reminder, nothing else. I use a masking agent for firefox, im just wondering if somehow this triggers it?
maybe the reason i & many others here don't see that popup is because we don't use firefox as is. lots of tweaks under the hood thru about:config.
There is a post and explanation on this at Mozilla.... https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1094876
yeah, i was right. the-edmeister's post at the link you gave makes references to about:config tweaks. that explains why i haven't seen them popups. you should never use any sw as is. always tweak & modify.
