Yes, it is the scan level setting:

Fast - Files are scanned upon execution
Balanced - Files scanned upon creation or modification
Throrough - Files are scanned upon access i.e. when read

Just noticed one that was missing from the list:

    python.exe - python scripts

It's not missing. The idea is not to add command line parsers for everything out there. That's pointless. Not to mention that it would be trivial to bypass. We focus on everything that is shipping as part of Windows as well as Java, mostly due to its high distribution. If you install any additional script interpreters like Lua, Rexx, Python, Ruby, PHP, AutoIt, AutoHotKey, or anything else really, we assume you know what you are doing. Not that there is much ITW malware out there for any of these with the exception of some POCs and some demos people created to push their Youtube view numbers.

Version 11? Sounds interesting. When can we expect V11 and what changes do you make compared to actual V10, Fabian?

You will find out both when we are closer to an actual release :).

I'm getting ready to take the plunge and replace my current AV with Emisoft. I have Outpost as my firewall, would there be any conflict with Emisoft?

There are no reported conflicts between EAM and Outpost. In the unlikely case that you do run into issues, just shoot our support a message and I am sure something can be worked out.

Thanks. I'm hoping to get it set up on my W7-64 this weekend. Looking forward to trying it out.

To play it safe, I would exclude all EAM's behavior blocker .exe's in Outpost HIPS and all Outpost's HIPS .exe's in EAM's behavior blocker.

I origially did just that, and had no problems. I eventually dumped Outpost to install Emsisoft Internet Security.

Hello I just installed emsisoft anti-malware (free trial) on my 64 bit Windows 10 system running Windows Defender as AV. It installed great, everything went well, but it turned off Windows Defender. Why would an anti-malware do this? Does it have AV as well? I want to run them together, using WD as AV and Emsisoft as anti-malware, is that possible?

    Thank you.

So... Apparently I failed to read lol. Ok thank you.

Would anyone here say this product is a good replacement for the new WD? I was trying to layer defenses. Perhaps Malwarebytes Premium with WD would work for my purposes instead?

I currently have MBAE running already. Thank you for the advice I'll give emsisoft IS a try then.

Honestly, unless you want more control over your network traffic than the Windows firewall offers, stick to EAM. This is especially true when you don't use a laptop or a netbook of some sorts.

As many of you know I do run a thorough setup. But when I test against live malware, EAM/EIS is always the first to catch it. For me that speaks for itself.

I bought Emsisoft Internet Security because I really like the ethos and the approach that Emsisoft take to making a product but unfortunately it caused a BSOD and then my internet connection got blocked. It clearly doesn't work on my system and I have asked for a refund but I've not had any response.

Is there a conflict between EIS and AirVPN because that is when the problem began. Is it possible that EAM might be a better solution?

This might be a better question for the security setup thread but since I'm lacking in security software I just wanted to ask here. Right now, I got Emisoft Anti-Malware, Outpost Firewall,Keyscrambler,Malwarebytes Premium, Adguard(thanks to Emisoft's deal) and HItman Pro Alert. Does that sound like I got most things covered? I have Hitman Pro on demand, also.

    Under a bushel ...
HitmanPro.Alert also has its own keystroke encryption, which I think makes way if it detects others - KeyScrambler iin your case ...
You could also consider a whitelisting app i.e. AppGuard (policy-based), NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro - or VoodooShield. The first two have different approaches and can be run together. AppGuard is relatively complex and needs some configuration, NVT ERP is a breeze.
    And Sandboxie ...
    OK - I know I am way OTT :)

That is generally what I do but I wanted the free Ad Guard license too so I rushed into a purchase. I didn't think there would be any conflicts and it's a shame I won't be using EIS because overall it seems very good.

Thanks. What would a whitelisting app do? Also, I have Sandboxie but hardly use it. Last I remember, the 64-bit Sandboxie was supposedly not as good as the 32-bit version?

Sorry for the beginner's questions but been a while since I was looking for new security software.

I was hoping to get some help from the Emsisoft team, but they haven't replied to any of my emails. So I posted here, as I'm already a member, so that Fabian might help otherwise I'll go directly to their forums.
