Sticky Password has been around for quite a long time, although I can't find a long discussion about it. Today I have started using it, after getting a free 1 year license in a promotion. I have been a long time lastpass user, but I rather prefer to have an alternative after its acquisition. Please share your experience about its stability, reliability etc.
I've been using it for around a year. Looks a bit dated visually, but it's pretty much the best manager I've used (tried all the major ones). Plus the price is good compared to e.g. 1Password or Dashlane.
One thing I am finding difficult to deal with is that there is no usual ways to get the add-on in the portable browsers. In that respect Lastpass is good. Also, I don't think I will be able to use it in Linux. However, it works with Internet Explorer in my system, whereas Lastpass introduced lags.
Never tried it with portable browsers, but I know with most password managers, you can drag the actual extension file into the browser if it's not recognized automatically. Edit:
I recently started looking for a back up in case the new owners of LastPass make me want to leave them. This looked like an excellent program but not available in Linux yet anyway.
Is this a one year license or lifetime? I have been using this for about 2 years now, but cant justify spending $100 to remember passwords. A notepad is $3.
its on sale here as part of a bundle $69.96 for a lifetime license http://malwaretips.com/threads/ulti...ogics-spyshelter-sticky-password-degoo.47419/ but its on sale seperately quite often
The Promotion ran by Sticky Password was a summer promotion. A notepad can be burned, lost, Stolen. For 10$ you can have a 3 user license for 1 year and be secure.
Ive used it for a few years now since roboform made my lifetime upgrades licence a nonsense.Ive found it to be very stable and reliable.I havent been forced to upgrade to newer versions that i didnt care for either.I dont like cloud based password managers ,so still using sticky password 6.
A good feature in SP8 is option to sync over your own WiFi. No storing in cloud if you don't want, but still want syncing.
Im not really sure i need that feature ,so i ll stick with 6 until it isnt supported any longer.I think i upgraded to 6 in 2012 and its still running fine.In that time ive never had any problems or loss of data
The screenshot is from Windows 10. So, no IE Metro Browser, and not Edge, Edge is not supported. It is for filling passwords in Windows Store Apps.
Apart from Avira and Spyshelter (I own a lifetime license), I do not know how the other three products are... The lifetime license can be bought as a standalone also. https://www.techoffer.in/sticky-password-discount/
I'm considering trying it, but I have a question. Does it have a secure notes feature (I have 'lots' of notes)?
I see that now. I took advantage of that bulk software discount offer and got a lifetime licence of sticky. And the Avira pro licence will come in handy, and the VPN. I didn't like how sticky auto logs you in (bypassing options if you have more than 1 account with a site). But a quick google found how to disable this somewhat annoying 'feature'.
I also like the fact that it has an option to save Bookmarks, unlike Lastpass, which requires Xmarks to purchase separately, although Xmarks has more features.
And still a long way to go...I guess. https://www.stickypassword.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17563#p101510
