This is not an A vs B thread, of-course!

    Hi Guys,
For the last year and half, I have been not experimented any antivirus/security suite, and I was more than happy with WSA+MCShield+On-demand Scanners. Now, after installing Windows 10, I am thinking about changing my habit. I tried Windows Defender for a brief while and then switched to F-Secure AV. However, F-Secure is not playing well with my PC, and thus I am thinking about switching to the now-popular choices Baidu or Qihoo (aka 360). Since, I was out-of-touch for much longer period, I haven't followed their developments. Last time I tried these two software myself, they looked similar in appearance to me.
So, I have a few questions,
    1. Do they have the same engines, or some engines in common?
    2. Are they featurewise alike?
    3. Which one is relatively more bug-free, light-weight and effectively supported (update delivery etc.)?
    4. How good they play along with MBAM Pro?
    5. And, how are their Windows 10 compatibility?

    Thanks in advance guys! :)

I assume that you are not Chinese. OK your location shows you are in India. Based on that, my reply only focuses on "global" or "international" versions of both products.

    360 Total Security: http://www.360totalsecurity.com/
    Baidu AntiVirus: http://antivirus.baidu.com/

    And... answers:

    1. 360TS provides multiple engines including BitDefender and Avira; of course, it has its own engine, and its own cloud. BAV used to having multiple engines, but from what I see in BAV related thread in kafan bbs, they have removed OEM engines.
    2. Both have a good set of AV and Anti-malware features including pro-active defense and manual sandbox. 360TS has more engines, and maybe a more active cloud, and some system tweak tools; BAV, on the other hand, is more modular, which means the small tools (including sandbox, system tweaking and more) can be installed as you wish.
    3. I don't know. I only have a machine (my father's) with 360TS and I don't think he's encountered any bug of it.
    4. Not sure, maybe ask or search.
    5. Based on version log, 360TS supports Win10 since July; while as stated in this thread, BAV hasn't supported Win10 yet -- please note though, the guy who answers in the thread is not an employee of BAV; but his words about BAV can be trusted.

Oh by the way, as a native Chinese, I don't like both of the companies. But if you have to choose from these two, I think 360TS Essential would be relatively better.

@coolcfan, companies aside, what do you think of 360TS Essential's protection with only the QVM engine enabled?

Well I think you can get more info from the 360 TS thread. Personally, I think 360 has good technology.

@sg09 It has been my experience with 360 products that they are much lighter than Baidu's antivirus. I like 360 TSE, a lot, and have installed it on a number of computers.

On some computers it has had major issues with false positives, leading me to uninstall it. But, as of late, I haven't seen any major issues with false positives on computers I've installed it.

Thank you @coolcfan and @roger_m . Recently, I have installed 360 TS in my friends PC (Win 7) and it was working fine.

Baidu didn't work on Win10 at the time of my testing, so I have no comment (seeing what others say, actually, I may give it another whirl).

I liked 360TSE a lot...right up until the unceasing false-positives drove me to uninstall it. If they were to provide the ability to disable QVM (like they did for their latest and last AV test--even Qihoo knows it's false-positive laden), I'd run it again.

It worked fine on Win10 and with MBAM Pro. It worked so well that it's hard to justify MBAM Pro over leaving it on-demand (and free).

Even with everything enabled/all engines ("Custom", turn everything on, go to options, turn everything on), it was still light.

For a free product, I don't mind helping (I submitted the more obscure/understandable samples), but constant false-positives (and on popular files, like, um, Windows) and asking them to be e-mailed is expecting too much.

It has (had? their version history says nothing) an issue with not scanning downloads on Chrome64 but it wasn't a show-stopper since on-access scanning would do its thing anyway.

It has a lot of nifty HIDS/HIPS features too. It was sad to have to let it go.
