Does anyone test Bitdefender 2016 at this moment? How good and light is it for so far? I hope we can share some experience in this topic.

    Greats,

I ran the 2016 beta on my Win 8.1 desktop for a month from the middle of July. There were a few things to report as would be expected with a beta program and BD did acknowledge the reports so they were listening :) , it seemed to be a little lighter on RAM use and worked well generally. I have for now gone back to BD TS 2015 but certainly will be installing 2016 as soon as the final version is released.

Isn't 2016 supposed to be released the end of this month?

    Thanks for the info.

Are there any worthwhile changes from 2015 to 2016?

there is a module for anti-encrypt, where you can designate specific folders to be protected, in addition to the standard ones that are automatically designated for protection

I would be interested to know how well it performs, and how it compares to the corresponding module in hitmanpro.alert, and to EasySync CryptoMonitor

    Bitdefender 2016 Released.

    "
New ransomware protection prevents untrusted applications from tampering with your personal documents, while enhanced behavioral monitoring looks for any ransomware-like activities.

Bitdefender’s engine has been extended with "machine learning-based technologies", enabling it to detect even brand new threats faster than ever.
The new firewall delivers better performance, and there are enhancements for the password manager, parental controls, file encryption and antitheft tools.
All three packages also have a strong set of core features, including phishing protection; vulnerability detection; a USB immunizer; Rescue Mode, a secure and isolated environment, outside of Windows, to remove even the most stubborn threats; and a desktop widget for quick scans and to monitor your security status."

It still feels very heavy in my system... It's noticeably slowing program opening/closing and navigation in general

It's preventing Windows 10 from shutting down. Support has been able to reproduce the problem.

I created an image & away I went. Thought I could install BDIS 2016 over BDIS 2015. Nope 2016 prompted an uninstall of 2015. The uninstall choices were kinda tricky. I read the options 3-4x. I picked the one (Idr) I thought would keep my 2015 license active. I guessed correctly. After all the usual rigmarole udates, scans & reboots. 2016 in W7Px64 had wiped out & turned off Quick Launch. After recreating QL, many planned reboots & planned shutdowns. Almost a day later 2016 is aok. Oh & I got rid of BD freeware Anti-Cryptoware since it's included in 2016.

Is it superfluous to run malwarebytes anti-exploit on a system that has bitdefender 2016?
    and what about keyscrambler?
what are recommended tweaks and settings for bitdefender 2016?

I also have slow shutdown on windows 10, but eventually, it does complete the process.

If anyone know where the full offline installers are for the BD 2016 products, I would sincerely appreciate it if you would post the links to them. :)

Tried it on 2 win10 machines and found it to significantly slow boots and slow browsing.I found that it doesn't uninstall very cleanly either.Uninstalled reboot. Then booted into safe mode and ran the uninstall tool and it still left behind bitdefender agent folders and processes in addition to numerous registry entries.I reverted to a previous image after that mess.Macrium is a godsend. Will try it again when it matures.Still have 8 months left on a previous subscription.

I restored my previous image of W7Px64 with BDIS 2015.

The last straw was today when BDIS 2016 said my subscription was up. Wouldn't let me manually insert my 1 1/2 years + to go activation code. And kicked me out instantly repeatedly trying to login to MyBitDefender.

I'll wait a week to a month before I have confidence that even 2015 won't now kick down my valid activation code.

This link is the key to a successful and trouble free upgrade from previous BD Ver. to newer 2016 versions .
I upgraded two Win 10 and one Win 7 machines to Bitdefender AV plus 2016, in less than two hours and everything is running fine and fast, at least as fast as previous 2015 version.
