I updated to Win 10 last week and everything went smoothly except for one thing: I'm getting a "low-battery Warning" pop-up for my HP wireless keyboard every time I start my PC. I've changed the batteries multiple times and I keep seeing this during every start-up. My keyboard works and functions fine but I just want to get rid of this annoying message. Searched the web with no results related to win 10. Any help/suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks.
It helped with a problem I was having with my AMD graphics board. It wouldn't open the control center and configuration panel. As expected with any new OSs drivers are being an issue right now. I had problems even with Microsoft's own mouse drivers, solved by a quick reinstall.
Probably this and something in the HID branch as well. Better do a backup before messing with your drivers though.
It seems I found a way to get rid of the message. While the message is up bring up Task Manager, look for a process called HP Keyboard Kit OSD. If you end that process the message should go away, confirming that you are on the right track. You can disable that process to prevent the message from coming up. A search on HP Keyboard Kit OSD reveals that this in not an essential process. It invokes an executable hpkeyboardx.exe that is classified as non essential. I concluded it is safe to disable HP Keyboard Kit OSD, did so and the message is now gone. I have not observed any other issues related to this action.
