    OS Windows 10:

Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 (It doesn't slow down system and with zero false positives so.. what I like in this suite is a solid firewall, application control and safe money feature.)

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (Recently added.. testing.. for now works great with Kaspersky.. UI is ugly :gack:)

PureVPN (I just love it :-*)

Adguard 6 alpha (Works fine for an alpha version)

What no updating your security software every five minutes.
    Your life will become worthless.

All those wasted licenses you must have ;)

I just went from IE9 to IE10 on W7. On IE9 i was using the 64 bit version. When i went to IE10 i only found a 32 and no 64 IE10. So i looked around and found out about how to enable enhanced mode for 64 bit tabs on IE10. Should i stay with IE10 or does IE11 work good with W7.

That Acer looks good. I would like to get one of them. Walmart.com has it listed but not sure if i could get one from the store in town.

That's easy, Dragon1952. Do a local store search on the Walmart site and that'll tell you if it's in stock.
If not, order online and select the store pickup option.
    Works great. :thumb:

Store pickup option sounds good. The Walmart site and the local store don't have the acer now it looks like. The Office Depot/Office Max in town has it in stock or from the site.

The question i have if I switch from Avast paid to Emsisoft anti-malware paid is there any type of protection I would be losing? In other words, is there anything that Avast does that Emsisoft doesn't do or vice versa? Reading the product descriptions I'm not confident in my ability to understand exactly anything I would be missing.

You'll lose Avast script shield and get Emsisoft behavior blocker. The loss is insignificant and acquisition is considerable.

Emsisoft = No unnecessary bloat :thumb:

Script shield is long gone and incorporated into DeepScreen. The bloat could be trimmed w/o paying money, but EAM is still a good choice overall.

I read about W7 and IE11 problems a long time ago. I did not know if any of those problems were fixed.

Ditched F-Secure AV after few days of trying. It was causing enormous delays in downloads. Running Avast Pro Antivirus along with MBAM Pro and MCShield.

      • Used for browser, email, PDFs
    • Network Security:
      • At home: Sophos Home UTM
      • Traveling: McAfee SaaS Web Protection (proxy)
    • Backup and Recovery: Saved to external hard drives in triplicate, 2-3x per year and before major trips
    • Web Browsers (on an Windows 7 Pro System):

      • Adobe Reader:Hardened security settings
    • Password Management: Encrypted Excel file contained within an encrypted Trend Micro Vault
    • Other Security Software
      • Belarc Advisor
      • CrowdStrike CrowdInspect
      • OpenVPN
      • Secunia PSI
    Key Headlines
    • Devices: 6 PCs, 2 iPads, 1 Android phone, 1 iPhone, Roku, Obihai VoIP phone, Amazon Echo, Asus RT-AC87U in Access Point mode, printer, multiple security cameras
      • Ghetto VLAN on the Access Point
    • Added Sophos Home UTM based upon what I read on this forum. Took a while to configure it to work well with all the devices, but it is now stable and is quite impressive!
      • I use the VPN capability to access the security cameras while traveling
      • Almost maximum settings
    • I like the McAfee SaaS Web Protection proxy, but it is a lot slower than the Sophos Home UTM
    • Based upon my research, I found that Trend Micro and Webroot offered complementary strengths and weaknesses, but could be combined
    • Total annual cost (actual amount paid): $174
      • Trend Micro: $50 / 10 devices
      • Webroot: $0 (free from bank)
      • OpenDNS Umbrella Prosumer: $60 / 9 devices
      • McAfee SaaS Web Protection: $64 / 2 licenses
      • Sophos Home UTM: Free
    • One-time capital cost: $780 for Mini-ITX PC (i5, 8GB RAM, 6 Lan Ports, 25 W idle)
      • 70 Mbps on a 100 Mbps service with dual AV, Web Protection, IPS, APT enabled; i5 maxes at 10%. The AV is what causes the slower speed
      • McAfee SaaS Web Protection runs about 5 Mbps going from east coast to server on west coast
    • I like the performance and protection. I think I will stop here for a while

Good Evening! Just installed McAfee Anti Virus Plus...in tandem with Heimdal Pro...and HMP...and HMP Alert. During install of McAfee...bypassed installing Site Advisor and the Registry Cleaner and File Shredder. Just the A/V and Firewall. McAfee is using their Cloud Component and as a result much less bloat. If anyone's interested Purplus has it on sale for $11.95 for 1 p.c. Sincerely...Securon
