    Blackcat, have you installed this and if so, how did you know which settings to apply. It's just been released so I'm having trouble finding any reviews of it.

    It's a standalone tool, doesn't need to be installed.

    @Chamlin

    I have downloaded the program, took a look but have yet to apply any settings.

    I had previously applied some privacy settings;

    Will probably give it a go tomorrow: I will take a system restore but I have a backup image just in case!

    Has anyone seen reports of how it might get in the way of system functionality?

    USA still the best. But barely.
    Wonder what M$ will do in retaliation to O&O. Probably an update that will break a O&O product. M$ has to teach them a lesson, watch & learn. The old evil M$ is back!

    Windows is proprietary code, how can you write a program that guarantees disabling all privacy services. How can you know which is what and doing what and sending what. And this is coming from a Microsoft partner.
    To me it just gives you a false sense of security.

    Has anyone used this with success? I was thinking of trying it, but don't know if there is any downside to it. Anyone?

    I have used it with no issues at all, make sure you run it as admin & reboot after making changes. I would then run the app again as admin to make sure the changes have stuck. Sometimes the disable feedback 3 of 3 doesn't take the first time.

    Ok, great, thanks Banzi. I think I will do a Macrium image and give it a try. Nothing to lose that way. I didn't think of running it as admin either. Thanks for that.

    Yeah best to make a reflect image first but you shouldn't have any issues. Here are my settings for it.

    Nice tool!
    Something I don't fully understand though: O&O Shutup10 (v.1.2.1349, currently the latest version)
    says: "Automatic Windows Updates disabled" but Windows is set to automatic/default/recommended.

    Red means it's not disabled, green means it is disabled.

    Yes, it seems pretty good. I had another image of 10 that I tried this tool on, and it quieted 10 down pretty good. I ran it with Recommended settings, and then tweaked a few more things manually, and 10 settled down and started to behave more like 7. :)

  20. So you are a happy Windows 10 user now? ;)

    Not necessarily... haha... I have 2 images of 10 now: One neutered with Shutup10 and manual tweaking, and another image where I left everything on defaults and touched nothing.. I'm playing with both. And from time to time, I can't resist Linux either... :)
