chrisretusn do you have the most updated bios installed? you should be able to upgrade regardless if what it says we may just have to do a few workarounds. let us know how the iso works, if not ill try to help you get it going. over 350+ upgrades so far without one system beating me yet

zfactor, my Asus Atom tablet says it's not compatible with Win10. Display driver issue.

I upgraded to Win10 anyway and Win10 worked fine except it wouldn't play videos. I just saw a pixelated screen. I restored a Win8 image.

    In the "Windows Update" window:

    "Windows 10 couldn't be installed"

"You can't install Windows 10 because your processor doesn't support NX"

There is a nice link that says "Learn more about great new Windows PC's"; no thanks.

My processor is a Intel Atom N455, according to the specs, this CPU supports NX, I also ran SysInternals Coreinfo which reports that NX is supported. I have checked the BIOS. There is no option to enable/disable NX.

I am currently working on installation via the Window 10 ISO. I need to go out a buy some DVD to burn first. :)

Check with the netbook manufacturer. No updated BIOS is being offer for my model (Neo Basic B3550) current BIOS is Phoenix SecureCore 1.00.03, KBC/EC Firmware Revision 1.00.01.

Have not been successful with the ISO yet. Need to go out and buy some new burnable DVD's the ones I have are not playing nice. :)

zfactor, it is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator.

In Win10 the Device Manager driver shows as Basic Microsoft. The Win8 driver doesn't/won't install.

    Asus VivoTab TF810C.

No need to buy or burn DVDs. Just install this freeware Virtual Clone Drive, enable at least one virtual drive, then mount the Windows 10 ISO and run the setup. Done.

Maybe you already know this but I just wanted to clarify that Intel calls this NX bit, the XD bit and it is usually a sub menu item under the "Security" tab in the BIOS. In my PC it is labeled as "CPU XD Support".

Good and excellent info to know as I am researching which brand is the best to buy that will be the most compatible with older WIN versions. :)

Asus offers a single exe which covers all drivers. There is no dedicated video driver. I ran the exe in Win10 but there was no improvement in video playing.

In the Get Windows 10 screen (in Windows 8 ) there is a warning about Win10 not having compatible display drivers. Win10 runs fine with the exception of playing videos.

That is a good suggestion but in my experience all Intel drivers are usually included with Windows update, and if Windows 10 automatic update was unable to find a video driver for @Brian's laptop then it probably was not released by Intel. Unless of course, @Brian has instructed Windows update to not download and install device drivers.

I just wanted to mention in case he was looking specifically for the NX bit label and ignored the XD Support, thinking it was something different.

That worked. Unfortunately I still get "You can't install Windows 10 because your processor doesn't support NX" :(

Thanks, I knew it would probably be under another name. I would have skipped right over anything saying CPU XD Support. :) Unfortunately the BIOS setup is lacking in extra settings, only the basic of basic settings.

[off-topic-rant]I looked into upgrading the BIOS directly from Phoenix. It has been a long while since I've gone that route. I was directed to a third party sight http://phoenixbios.com/. Yikes! I am totally disappointed with Phoenix BOIS. This is nothing but a snake oil site trying to get my money. I did try the "free" BIOSAgentPlus, as expected it tells me there is a BIOS update available (along with 24 other available updates). I can't download it, it get taken to a register page, followed by a Buy Now page were I can "Get all of these amazing products for:" $29.95 (saving $39.95). Sorry not going to happen. I don't want or need a free FileCleaner or BIOSAgentPlus (not free). I just want to download the BIOS; which appears cannot be done with out spending money. On top of that, I have no idea what is included in the BIOS update and if it will fix my problem. So I pass and shame on Phoenix.[end-rant]

Well it seems my plans to upgrade my daughter netbook to Windows 10 are thwarted Sigh....

question, my goverment blocks several sites, and i usually use dnscrypt to bypass the censor. It's worked well but there is a site that can't bypassed since i upgrade my Windows. My deduction is because that site only support ipv6, Windows 10 prioritize ipv6 over ipv4 and my ISP don't support it, so dnscrypt can't reach that site.

    what tweaks i need to do ? (i don't trust vpn/proxy services)

what is the actual chipset. all you need to do is download them intel's site extract them and do as you did for the nvidia 220. should work fine or install win 10 again and use the intel drivers. forget the asus ones.

chrisretusn try to go to Computer->Properties->Advanced system settings->Performance Options->Data Execution Prevention and make sure "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:" is selected before doing the upgrade. the other way i have bypassed this is to install a fresh copy of win 7 making sure of dep settings then upgrade from there. if the bios has no option many times it still supports it almost every system from the last 7-8 years do support it.

can you download and run Coreinfo or SecurAble to see what they say

    From Speccy...

    Chipset Vendor... Intel
    Chipset Model... Atom Host Bridge
    Chipset Revision... 05

The CPU is Intel Atom Z2760 (Cloverview)

I ran the Intel Driver Update Utility (In Win8.1 )... No drivers were detected for your product. I ran this in Win10 and was given the same answer.
