paragon 15 on win 10 machine bitlocker ON, on drive C I want to make a virtual drive of C (IT does not have to be encrypted, I just want to be able to OPERATE it as a virtual drive, in an emergency) I've tried P2V copy, and it CRASHES, gets error message even before creation of this. I've tried BACKUP, to make a VMDK file. it MAKES the VMDK file, and that is MOUNTABLE AND HAS VISIBLE files inside (if I wanted to restore files) but if I try VMware, and try to RUN the virtual drive, it states "no operating system found". I followed directions found on google, for creating the virtual package (creating package, in VMware Player, add the vmdk file, etc,e tc) but that is whre, on mounting, it states "no operating system". I have posted this to paragon support, but if anyone here can assist me, it is appreciated. Heck, if we figure it out, I will do a screen shot tutorial of it, for others ! thanks nick
POSSIBLE SOLUTION, if others could confirm I tried ORACLE. found option to ENABLE UEFI selected it, and the backed up bitllocked drive does open !!! (fix boot order also) VMware - there is an option to enter, into the VMX file, of firmware = "efi" I have not tested this yet If others could test this, both methods, to confirm, so this can maybe be elevated to a pinned topic, to show how to acess backups of bitlocker drives?? thanks nick
