Need back up a back-up to save

    HI.. If this is not appropriated to ask here... Please let me know.

    My question is I have a client, back up to double HD (D-Link ShareCenter 2Bay Network Storage) and I was thinking HOW can I make another backup out of that office in case of fire.. Well that question was gave to me today and I was thinking may be a cloud or purchase a storage to a company or something...
    So Please let me know your thoughts about this question.

    If you are looking at cloud storage. I would look at a file encryption method before uploading to the cloud. Also depending on the volume size. Data restore is a long process from the cloud. I would look at an offsite encrypted backup solution.

    Adding offsite backup is a great idea. And as mentioned, encryption is a must.

    I don't use any cloud service at home but at work they use CrashPlan. I also know of a small business near me that uses Mozy and they used it to recover their business (all their local backups were no good.) BTW, this is no particular endorsement for any one program!!

    The keys (IMO) are corporate reliability (someone that has been in business for a while), good reliable encryption (someone NOT reinventing the wheel with their own extra special algorithm) and ease of use.
