The test done in AVC, Av test use Avira pro. Does anyone has an idea whether the free version would be as effective as pro and the results hold true for free version. Or to put in a different way, Does anyone have a doubt that the tests using pro version would not give same results for free version of avira.
Certainly not, avira free is not so good like the pro version and that is because of its webfiltering, ABS (browser plugin) in free is not so much efffective like in the paid version.... so webfiltering in the free is very weak, so its protection goes way down compared to pro.
i wanted to be there but work wise i could not get away for the trip. since we opened a second office location and had to fire one guy and another moved we just had way to much going on right now. looks like it would have been a great time
Both versions measure very closely together on virus bulletin, and AV-test has scores for the free version I think but I' not sure.
Results tables: Corporate products Avira Antivirus Pro https://www.virusbtn.com/virusbulletin/archive/2014/12/figures/certification-corp-large.jpg Results tables: Consumer products Avira free Antivirus https://www.virusbtn.com/virusbulletin/archive/2014/12/figures/certification-consumer-large.jpg https://www.virusbtn.com/virusbulletin/archive/2014/12/vb201412-comparative ---------------- https://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/RAP/RAP-quadrant-Aug14-Feb15-1200.jpg ,
Its still not clear whether free version score almost same as pro. Both results above are not comparing free and pro at same time.

Avira’s Secure Browser: Plans and Tactics (Part 2) July 17, 2015 http://blog.avira.com/aviras-secure-browser-plans-tactics-part-2/ .
According to the RAP (Reactive And Proactive) quadrant Aug14-Feb15 test, In reactive detection yes, they are in the same level. In proactive detection, Avira Free is far behind, imo.
Yes, thats true. Ok, I am trying Avira Pro after about 5 years. Lets see how the experience turns out.
Is it Avira Antivirus Pro + WPS [FREE Personal Edition] Office Suite or Avira Antivirus Pro + WPS [Paid Business Edition] Office Suite? Because in first case, who needs Avira's bundle in order to get a free product? http://wps.com/wps-office-personal/ .
It should be WPS Office Business (Premium) Look at the final line The Avira Antivirus Pro + WPS Office Suite license is available for 1 device / 1 year. The WPS Office Suite can be used on two additional PCs, plus an unlimited number of Android and iOS devices.
