Appears optional KB3064209, Intel Microcode Update, "borked" a few PCs: http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...date-kb3064209-causes-windows-7-not-boot.html
Optional. KB2952664 Compatibility update for upgrading Windows 7 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2952664 KB3065987 Windows Update Client for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2: July 20153 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3065987
Ok I read the kb3065987 link. But I still don't understand. It looks like it changes a lot of files. So should I hide it?
In my case, it keeps appearing as available even after I installed it (several times). The first time was optional, now it is important.
Hello Robin, I have the same issue as you except that I am on a Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit system ( KB 2976978 ), not Windows 7. I have hidden that update for now so it will stop wanting to reinstall...
I was brave (mostly due to backup images) and installed both of them in the optional category. I hope they don't reappear tomorrow as criticical or something silly like that.
Ah. So my eyes are okay then. That particular update has been around for awhile (KB2952664) and it keeps coming back. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...o/b3ec3f95-2e6a-414b-ad18-0420a24f28d5?auth=1
I just checked and I already had 2952664 installed weeks ago. Wonder why on Earth it shows up again as an optional update? I just restored my image and I'll let these sit there and hopefully they'll disappear some day... Lol..
