TrojanHunter 6.0 has been released. The program is now freeware with a Premium version available with extra features. The standard version is not limited in any way and removes all found malware. This version features many engine enhancements and a brand new, much easier-to-use user interface.

Magnus - Congratulations on release of version 6. Two comments, I would like to see a quick scan option like in v5.6 and there is no way to turn off automatic updates once you enable them.

You're right, that's an oversight. I just need to figure out where on the GUI to place the option to disable automatic updates. A quick scan option is also in the works, it will probably be in the next release.

    @ Magnus Mischel

Hi, i guess this free version might encourage many more users = more feedback = more improvements etc & i expect you're hoping more Premium versions taken ! All the best with it.

A few points that need addressing though.

Seems to update almost every minute, which is Very impressive !

    But here it says ?

    But here ?

Plus it would be a lot more helpful, also & might encourage more Premium versions, if we knew Exactly what the differences were.

The page shows in real time when a new piece of malware is added to the database. The actual definitions then get released within an hour or two at the most, which means that that's when they are available to users. If you click on the "Buy Premium" button at the top right you can see the differences. There will be a better homepage soon too, which should explain the differences between the free and premium version better :)

Clicking "Buy Premium" does not show me any comparison chart.

    Hi,

No, I get the page to enter my card details. OH, is that on the GUI? I was expecting to see it on the website.

    Thanks.

The TrojanHunter engine, developed in-house :) We don't use any external engine.

    Thanks! :)
Was TH tested anywhere? ....just to check its detection ratio... ;)
So, Premium version has real-time protection?

No recent tests that I'm aware of, but that may change. Yes, Premium includes TrojanHunter Guard.

I will check it out, I remember this tool from way back in the days, but I lost interest because I almost never scanned my machine anymore. But a tool like this may come in handy, I suppose it's specialized in finding trojans?

I am confused. On the comparison page it shows free without TrojanHunter Guard but in Task manager under startup it shows TrojanHunter Guard enabled.
    With name as THGuard.exe.

One web site file review states this but I wonder what they mean by it. Is this a malware version of THGuard.exe thedy are talking about?

"The process starts when Windows starts (see Registry key: MACHINE\Run). THGuard.exe is able to record keyboard and mouse inputs, monitor applications and manipulate other programs. Therefore the technical security rating is 18% dangerous; however you should also read the user reviews."

I would personally like a screenshot of it scanning if possible on the web site.
Normally, i favour scanning programs that show were they are scanning in full detail.

There is no "malware version" of TrojanHunter Guard; I think they just do an analysis of API imports of different programs and give it a score based on that.

    Yes like that.

Unfortunately the full path is not shown (maybe it does when extended to the full width of the screen?)
Also I like to know what areas it has to scan yet like the autostart areas you have in the screenshot.

Both of those help in the buying process for YetAnotherScanner.
    :)

"Trojan remover" is a good example of what i like a scanner to display.

Yes, if you expand the window it will show the full path. Will keep your other suggestions in mind for the next versions!

    TrojanHunter Scan Report - Saved 2015-06-20 16:30

    Found malware file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86\3\PXC30UIf.DLL (Xpaj.137)

Nothing found on that file at virustotal. How can I submit the file to you? and mavbe even a submit file option for your program would be a good idea?

I noticed some problems. I am using the free version I think. It is telling me my computer has not been scanned even though I spent about three hours scanning it. There is also no log file telling me it is clean which most programs have.

Now it is telling me the last scan was today, but I recommend a log file

Scan is way too slow and non-responsive on Windows 10. I also dislike how the uninstaller doesn't terminate (or ask to) the guard process and leaves behind remnants instead.
