The application itself is not quite updated daily but perhaps the downloaded database is...

Alas - though the developer (thisisu) had been making changelog entries, sadly that chore was discontinued quite a long time ago. :(

If you use Avanquest's Driver Genius 14,be prepared that JRT removes it without notice.......which brings me to the main shortcoming of this tool : no user input.

@roady That's a big problem. I use it on customer's computer when I don't think there could be anything they want which it might remove, but I don't use iton my laptops for that reason.

Yeah,it should at least have a safe mode if working without user input, like most novices would use it,and a manual input for experienced malware hunters.
There's also a problem when JRT 7.0.3 scans for mailicious services........half the icons of your systray will disappear if you hover over it,and you have to re-enable those services manually,or reboot before everything works properly again.

    Win 8.1 64 bit Dutch,fully updated.

@roady The reason for the dissapearing icons is due to JRT terminating processes prior to removing anything to help with removal.

    I know roger,but IMHO,that's a bit of bad approach,as JRT also disables services of security programs,like SandBoxie,Windows Firewall Control,Adguard,and Shadow Defender ......
The JRT developer should at least use whitelisting for such programs.

Today, Malwarebytes announced the hiring of Filipos Mouliatis,
otherwise known as thisisu, and the acquisition of his tool Junkware Removal Tool.
JRT is a tool that is designed to remove adware and other potentially unwanted programs from a Windows computer.
This tool is a very popular download at BleepingComputer.com with over 4 million downloads since Filipos began developing it.
It will be exciting to see how JRT partnered with Malwarebytes will go even further to
protect Windows users from adware and other unwanted programs.
