trying to restrict an applications outbound connection to a single IP ... seems unecessarily complicated, can someone please explain to me the step to do this?

    Should be as simple as:

Chosse App > Choose Remote IP > Allow or Dissalow

If this can be done, I am switching firewalls... I doubt you would be doing this for a browser... can you specify an exact IP for each app wanting outbound connections?

You needs to switch LnS into Advanced mode (Options tab > Miscellaneous > Advanced options and enable Advanced Mode checkbox in the list). Now, double-clicking an app (or clicking Edit button) in the list on Application Filtering tab will bring up a dialog where you can specify Ports or IP addresses to allow for an app (for TCP and UDP independently). You can specify IP's to allow or block (to block, prefix IP with !), and enter multiple IP's (use ; as separator between IP's) and even IP ranges (use - between IP's). Check out "Application Filtering Page" section of the help for more information

For example, to restrict firefox.exe to IP address 123.456.789.123, simply double-click on firefox entry in the list and add "123.456.789.123" to either the TCP or UDP (or both) IP editbox. Can't get much easier than that. ;)
