you don't say which version of "windows" you are using, or which "avira" program you are using (free or premium), or which "product version" of the avira program you have installed.. to resolve the conflict with the "rocketdock" program, my advice would be to try disabling the avira program's "self-protection".. to adjust the avira program's settings for its "self-protection", in the avira program's "configuration", go to "general"/"security", and untick the settings, there.. if you have trouble opening the avira program's "configuration", try going to "c:\program files\avira" and rightclick on the "avconfig.exe" file, there, and use "run as administrator", to open it.. then disable the avira program's "self-protection".. you probably will need to reboot your computer before the changes in the settings, in the avira program's "configuration", will take effect..
Thank you for the reply @redwolfe_98,but right now i'm kind of sick and tired of AV's with issues...so i've made a backup image with Avira (free, btw ) and moved on.When my mood will be right,i'll come back to see what's going on.So again, thank you for the help.
See, this is the problem with Avira; always seems to be a "particular issue" and "somebody" is working on it....
Hi Tony R Oh,so it's a real issue, not just me...well,i will keep an eye this thread just in case, thank you. I know that there's no AV without issues, but lately and sadly,Avira for me has more problems than before...
maybe someone from avira can answer this, i have the 3 USER lic for 3 years running which i was told covered all devices mobile included and when i load it up on them it always says "upgrade to pro" so why am i basically still getting the free version on those? i triple checked and asked avira cust service before buying those lic's they said they cover 3 users 5 devices each and the android were included in those 5 devices. its the same way on all my mobile devices i have used it on so far.
Whats your license type first? If you are buying AntiVirus Pro(Windows) You would not receive that(that not additional for your products!) Only following products will got Android AntiVirus Pro Internet Security Suite-Special Edition(Retail) Ultimate Security Suite Avira AntiVirus Security Pro(Android) Other license except above three type of products will not receive any free copy of Android Security Pro If you are sure your license have Android Security Pro do the following >Install the Avira AntiVirus Security from Play Store 1.>Login your Avira Accounts which you have enter your license key 2.>If you have login already,Open the programe 3.>Swipe from the left(hamburger menu) 4.>Click on Help>Refresh Button,Wait until it finish 5.>If license is correct, you should receive a new introduction screen about pro version if not that means your license was not have Android Security Pro,You have to buy it separately
Toni when will release a new support collector tools the current one cannot be run on Windows 8.1 x64 anymore it will just stop suddenly when we click on start to collect
well then that stinks. because i specifically asked them before buying it. i recently bought the pro version off the avira website. i asked cust support before buying it and they said yes it can be used on android devices. someone over there need to have a meeting with the whole company so everyone knows whats going on. and i was told the pro 3 user version covers 3 users / 5 "devices" each when i asked what devices were they said any kind, computer phone tablet etc etc.
Hi zfactor, Do not worry, I am quite confident that "somebody is already working on that particular issue."
i don't know, but i think that might not be a bad idea. i'm not a software expert, so if the following scenario is wrong please be kind: if the av remove a file because of false positive and render a software unable to start, at least you know what's causing it. if it simply quarantined the file you might get a message like "the software can't start because a required file xxxx.dll is missing", instead of "avira has blocked the file xxxx.dll because it contains a malware", or something to that effect? if it's the first message, where do you start? is it caused by file corruption, or a bad hard drive, or a virus, etc?

i got the "update 11" update this morning.. i was surprised that the avira program downloaded the update and tried to install it automatically.. (i check for updates manually).. i was away from my computer at the time and the update wouldn't install because of my security-settings.. when i got back to my computer, i disabled the realtime-protection on my computer and ran the updater, again, and the update was installed..
zfactor, you are confused.. if you have a license, then you have the pro-version which supposedly can be used on "android".. look at this webpage, where it says "EXTRAS".. the "extras" are that it works on android: http://www.avira.com/en/avira-antivirus-pro again, if you have a license, then your product works on android.. if you are using the free version, then it can't be used on android.. also, since you have a license, you can contact avira for support.. if you need help, contact avira support: http://www.avira.com/en/support
okay i have the PAID pro version. but when i load it on android it is not the pro version but the regular free one. and yes i send it from my avira account. it says "upgrade to pro" in the android app
The one thing that really bugs me about the current avira is that if you install it by any means it gives you launcher from where it will ask you to install safesearch/browser safety. And if you don't install the launcher and install Avira AV alone it wont ask for browser safety addon or safesearch.I personally don't like safesearch it still is kind of sketchy to me and looks like they still have associations with Ask in this safesearch thing. I would love to see them recommending browser sefety addon which is absolutely fantastic. They can just install it with the full free package for the user and throw the safe search thing out of the window.Believe me avira is really nice right now but the launcher thing is absolutely not needed they and secondly it installs safesearch which is useless to me and in place of the launcher and safe search why not just install the safety addon for the user? Its a fantastic addon and very stable too. Overall apart from those 2 things which bug me I am feeling avira is completely back to where it left off in 2010.Just get rid of safesearch and avira launcher thing and replace it with their browser addon and it works like magic.
