There are no sleep mode related changes. If it is fixed, it is by pure accident. We unfortunately haven't been able to reproduce the problem internally, so it is pretty much put on hold until we can.

You cannot beat Emsisoft and Fabian for customer service, period.

Thanks for responding. After I installed IS and discovered the problem, I made a snapshot on my Raxco Instant Recovery reproducing my system. I then went through all the steps uninstalling my old firewall, uninstalling my Emsisoft Anti-malware, and installing EIS making sure I made no mistakes, and my Sleepmode still doesn't work. How come I can produce the problem twice, and the company can't reproduce it once? :D

Sleep mode is difficult. The problem is that any program and driver is able to prevent your system from entering sleep mode. There are thousands of possible combinations and interactions between them. Sleep mode works perfectly well on all my systems and all my VMs for example.

I see your problem. But if my Sleepmode on this computer worked since I bought it in 2010, and then it stops working the moment I install EIS that narrows it down to EIS.

I never said otherwise. Just that it simply doesn't happen on any of our machines. Unless we are able to reproduce it somehow, it is unlikely we will be able to fix it.

Thanks for all the good feedback.

The problem i run into with other av's is that the realtime component magically stops working and the devs do nothing about that bug. The biggest offender is Bitdefender, their own forums are full of users complaining about it.

EDIT: unfortunately for me the language files which i could edit seem to have perfect translations

EDIT2: i did find something else minor, When your system detects its first malware, it says 1 malware objects detected, but in this case it should object, the plular objects should be used only on numbers other than 1 (including 0)

EDIT3: The SMTP authentication dropdown box where you can select TLS is not translatable it seems

EDIT4: the scheduled/planned scanning feature is completely untranslated

EDIT5: i found the translation status, i will update it

    Hi fabian,

The english translation itself is problematic.
The site says you guys maintain it youself but i would like to propose some changes to it.

ok, Also the translation system could be simplified and streamlined considerably.
For MPC-HC we build a semi-automatic updater that keeps all files cleanly in sync with the program, check it out here

    https://github.com/mpc-hc/mpc-hc/tree/develop/src/mpc-hc/mpcresources

This will also insure that any lines that not have been translated yet will always show up in english. (I assume english is the main language?)

It is unlikely that we will move away from a pure text based system. We considered systems like gettext or even Delphi's own translation system in the past, but most translators hated the fact that were limited to certain tools or couldn't easily test their translations without setting up overly complicated build environments first.

I had issues with sleep mode recently. I use EAM plus Eset Smart Security 8. Sleep problems stated appearing after I recently installed Eset SS.

There is a WIN 7 and I assume WIN 8 "Fix-It" to correct sleep issues. I ran it and it will set everything to defaults including your power settings. Turns out, I was missing the hyberfil.sys. Thinking about this a bit more, I use a stand alone CD ver, of Paragon's WIN PE for system imaging and restore and it does not back up the hyberfil.sys. I believe this is the case for a lot of imaging software since that file is huge; like 3 - 4 GB. So if you do imaging and did a recent restore, this could be your issue?

itman, Thanks for the info. I haven't done a Restore in almost a year, and as I mentioned I had my sleep mode until I installed my EIS the other day. Can you tell me where/how I can access that "fix-it?

I've been (re-) translating for 9 hours and and I just reached the 50% point of the file.
No wonder translating is rewarded with a key haha

Here it is: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/920730 . Note: not applicable to WIN 8.

This resets everything back in power plan config to default value of "balanced." Note that "hybrid" sleep is not the same as hibernation mode which remains set to off in the "balanced" power plan config..

-EDIT- There is another possible reason here. It might had something to do with your NIC sleep settings? Perhaps EIS somehow changed those? Check to see if device is allowed to sleep/wakeup. Also powercfg.exe has an option to perform diagnostics and will let you know of other possible hardware/software conflicts.

I would suggest you wait for version 10 to be released. Kind of pointless to change things otherwise.

Will 10 provide all new translation files or will it build on from the current files?

So i should stop now and submit the 50% done changes?

It's not a completely new file, but it contains a lot of changes compared to v9. It would be a waste of your time if a large part of your work is discarded because strings you edited were also changed in v10.

I suggest you just wait for the v10 release and continue then. If you do edit an officially maintained language file, I also suggest you stick to grammar and spelling fixes. If you want to change things beyond that, discuss it with us first. It would be a pity if you put a lot of work into changing the language file and we can't use them because there are technical or legal reasons why we can't. Language in connection to PUPs for example was chosen extremely carefully to avoid libel law suites for example and there are tons of other similar pitfalls.

Ok, well i submitted the work so far as it is a big improvement on the existing translation.

For the reasons you mentioned i have tried to follow emsisoft's exact wording as closely as possible, and this is where i ran into problems that go beyond grammar and spelling fixes.

Can i get the beta file for translation? So its mostly ready for the v10 release?
