It is doing the same for me, which makes it somewhat useless, considering the program can't check for updates until it is registered. The included definitions are 12 weeks old.
Yes. " Dear ***, Please be informed that registration option is to activate the full version. You are not required to register trial version. Thank You." From their support. Bad thing is the program doesn't detect anything in real time. Only on demand scans do. Their response: " Dear ***, It should detect when you open the file not while downloading. If still not detecting, please forward me the file URL. I will forward it to the team in charge to check further on this. Thank You."
Updated for me too. Not registered yet. I tried under Shadow Defender. Disabled Avast Internet Security that I have installed on the system. Tested with harmless samples. Ondemand & Realtime scan. Ondemand detected the samples & gave the notification. Samples were in the quarantine. Dont know how Realtime works? Harmless samples were not able to run & got the message access denied. Didn't got any notification from Securalive. Samples were still in the folder. Quarantine was empty. I find most of the users say Ikarus detection is poor, is it?
I manually checked for updates, and it required me to register. Maybe if I had waited, the definitions would have been updated automatically?
I can't see any useful real time protection with this product. Doesn't even detect EICAR on either downloading or opening.
Sure, but the antivirus doesn't. Looking at the screen shots of the paid product as well as the free one, I suspect that there isn't any meaningful real time protection.
If the browser block the eicar it doesn't pass the realtime shield from an AV, because its already blocked by the browser, thats why you will have no notification/alert from AV.
They told me it's by design, lol. "Dear ***, It should detect when you open the file not while downloading. If still not detecting, please forward me the file URL. I will forward it to the team in charge to check further on this. Thank You." But it doesn't detect it even when I open it. Only on demand scan does detect it.
If Webroot says, must be good? Why don't you look at Matousec's security challenge and tell me where Webroot is in this chart? This is only antivirus FFS. No behavior blocker or hips, or whatever. It's useless at the moment.
To be specific, I bypassed the browser blocking the eicar test file. With this antivirus runnig, I was able to unzip the file (so not detected on writing the test file) and also execute the test file. So... make your own decision. I think on current standards for an antivirus it is below par. As an Aussie I'm quite disappointed.
New mail from support: "Dear ***, Hi, We are removing the trial option for free edition and new set up will be uploaded to our site soon. I am closing support ticker. Please raise new support ticket if you need further assistance. Thank You."

Hi Guys, We have given out three licenses for now. Please drop me a PM if you would like to test the software. Thank You.
Can the free AV be used with another product as a complement? I use Outpost Security Suite Pro, but the AV part is not the best. Thanks.
I will try it, can you PM me a license please? Thank you. I must be daft. I can't figure out how to PM you here..
Handen, in a member's Profile, you'll find a Start a Conversation link. That's this forum's form of PM.
